`

One morning maybe not too far off, we are going to awake to the news, that Hopewell is no more. It completely blew up during the night and there is nothing at all left, but a few old houses.

It has almost happened before. Only time will tell.

This plant is as big of Boondoogle as Reverand Harris all those clowns need to be out of office . I still want to know how the mayor can be an employee of the school board and be impartial (NOT)

explosions and fire at our plants is always important and just cause you didn't hear it doesn't mean it isn't true. It did happen last night and we should ALL be concerned when any of our plants have fire or explosion.
Also Pelham employed at schools is not mayor anymore bailey is. they both backed the plant coming and I was told both have gotten money from ethanol plant for thier re-elections. That don't seem right.
That plant in Ky they saw to judge if we should get one was 5 miles out of town and not as big as this one. There is more that is stinking in Hopewell than the plants I'd say.

I think that the citizens were "led" to believe something much different than what is now on that site- or at least I was. What a loud huge eyesore!!

I was actually awake when the explosion happened and I don't like far from the plant (8th ave). My house DID shake, and all I heard was a loud "BAM", almost like an accident outside.
It's a big deal, especially to those of us even semi close to it.

Hopewell is and always has been an industrial town, if you don't like it, move. The plant is a brand new build and will have issues to deal with upon the initial start up. There have always been issues with the plants around here that is why all of them have on site safety response teams. I welcome the new jobs and Industry in Hopewell, you don't see any other well paying jobs knocking the doors down to come here and Pay our citizens wages that they can support their familes do you? I think not! Every one wants Wal-mart to come here and act like that will save our city!!! Yes it would be fantastic, but can you support yourself and family on the average Wal-mart wage? Osage came here, and now another plant is building on that sight as well, I E more good paying jobs. how many more will it lead to?
I welcome it, and yes I live near it as well.
So funny that it has already been forgotten that City Point had to be evacuated a few years back when the rail car leaked..........

Tell that to the people who dialed 911 because they thought someone was breaking in their house or that they thought someone was breaking into their cars because the alarms were going off. Hopewell received a lot of 911 calls from people reporting both. Also it was a natural gas explosion that resulted in a fire.
