Who is everybody supporting for Commonwealth Attorney?

There is only one candidate running as Cloniger doesn't reside in Hopewell therefore he is exempt from running. I am sure that there is a rental house lease in his name in the city provided by one of the GOB's but if it is investigated it is obvious that no one really resides there.....

You betcha! The GOBs don't like Newman, and will do anything to get their boy in. Same goes for sheriff, so vote for Cathie Mitchell, they don't own her either.

True, don't believe anyone can own her. She only has been married four or five times.

I thought Cloninger has lived on Cedar Level Rd for years. Regardless, didn't Newman rent a home when he was first running and then "move in" with his girlfriend. What has Newman done for this City. We are NO better off than when Sylvester was the Commonwealth Attorney. The City needs a COMPLETE overhaul. Vote Cloninger

Actually he does live in Hopewell ...... He is a great guy and I have known his for years. Hopewell has so much to offer and I would love to see it back the way it was when I was growing up here. He is like the rest of us and has hope and a positive outlook for Hopewell. He has my vote.

newman tried to cheat hopewell out of thousands upon thousands of dollars by transferring highway 295 in Hopewell to the state troopers instead of the hopewell sheriff's office. that way hopewell would not get the revenue from the traffic tickets, the state would get it instead. he did this b/c he hated the sheriff's office and let his vindictiveness get in the way of what is good for hopewell

where has the I295 money gone? Other that Sheriff's Dept. Equipment no one knows. There is no paper trail...... And Cloniger is a P.G. County Resident.

Hopewell was known as the joke when they elected Newman originally. He had tried to be elected in numerous localities but they saw right through him. what did Hopewell do,??... they elected him.

The sheriffs department doesnt see a dime of the money from the tickets they write its publicv information investigate it if want. And he was saying he didnt think it was being used right because not going back into program that generated it at all. And if going be abused here needs be in hands that put it to good. use. Cloninger represented me in a civil case I filed against someone several years ago. He was as useless as could be. Totally unimpressed and did not present the information I had given to him. I would not vote for him even if Mickey Mouse was the other candidate.

Cloninger lives in Hopewell and worked for Hercules plant for years. He can relate to all of the hard working people in Hopewell and give them a voice. He is not a Good Ole Boy.

He owns property in multiple jurisdictions including Hopewell. Let's stop making his residence the focusing point of his qualifications.

How much prosecutorial experience does he have? What type of track record will he bring to the office of CA?

Pepper, I am happy that he did a good job for your case. Perhaps he was more experienced by the time he represented you. I had given him complete and detailed papers about my case and he referred only briefly to those facts during the hearing. He did not address the judge with any eye contact, looked at the floor most of the time, and did very little for the entire case. The other party had a very good lawyer who stomped all over him. In hindsight I should have researched the experience of more lawyers before choosing him. When friends asked about the outcome they were totally in agreement with my thoughts and asked why on earth I hired him. I was new here and had never needed a lawyer so I trusted him. Live and learn.

How long has he had his law license and how much experience in prosecutorial law does he have?

Cloninger has had his law license for probably about thirty years. He has had many years of trial experience in the criminal law.
