The schools at Prince George are the worst that I have seen in years! The security is lax, you can just walk into any building and no one questions you. WTH is up with that? How easy it would be for an estranged spouse who has no custody rights to pick up their children from a classroom.
It's apparent that the schools are not only understaffed but the staff they do have are not trained to deal with military dependents who face many unique situation that civilian children do not. I.E. long TDYs; deployments and constant PCSing. The fact that the school also did not adopt the nationwide curriculum of the DODD schools shows their lack of cooperation in making the transitions easier for the dependents.
The staff at the schools are the unfriendly, unprofessional and of no help whatsoever! I've been here for 4 months now and am amazed that with all the unhappy parents I have met that nothing has been done yet. I have 5 children and every single one is attending a different school. Why do we not have schools on post?
I will be yanking my children out of these schools starting next month and homeschooling them. The Prince George schools are shameful to say the least!
