RIP my biker friends. Perhaps if this man would have been a little patient these two would still be able to enjoy a ride into the sunset.

Just another in a long list of Bikers Killed by MORONS turning left in their path. Please don't cry and say you didn't see them. People in cars have no respect for mororcycles, a couple of seconds of patients and those 2 people would still be alive. Daniel, I hope you have horrible nightmares for the rest of your miserable life.

I was there, I tried to help Kathryn. I am so sad that I couldn't save her life. I have been thinking about them non-stop. We were on vacation and checking out Daytona beach. We pulled up right after it happened. I didn't see the accident. I just seen them on the ground and I tried my best to help. I will be haunted by that scene forever.
My parents both ride Harleys. I called them right away and told them what happened, because I never really worry about them out on their bikes. But now I know how easy it is to die on your Harley. Bike riders, please be careful and I will always be extra careful when you are around me on your bike. Everyone else, drive carefully, watch out especially for bikers, PLEASE.
My heart and prayers go out to those who knew Mr. Rhoden and Ms. Phipps.

To most people, the term "Scooter Trash" is the way they describe people that ride Motorcycles. To real biker such as myself, it is a badge of honor. I have riden these Iron Horses for 61 years and I am damn proud to be called "Scooter Trash". To the family of the 2 people that were killed, you have our heartfelt condolances. May they ride their scooter through the gates of heaven in all the glory they deserve. RIP Scooter Trash

I knew both of the victims, both highly respectable Doctors from Barnsley, UK, who were on holiday. Dr Rhoden was a Cardiologist at Barnsley Hospital, and his wife a general practitioner nearby. They leave behind 3 young children.

Walter was a good friend and superb cardiologist who will be greatly missed at Barnsley Trust, UK. Kath was also a good friend and greatly loved local GP. Both spent much time in training and looking after young doctors as well as being devoted to the care of their patients. We (SO/DWB) are but two of his hospital colleagues. All will miss them and are mourning them. Both had at different times lent us help, support and given us sound advice.

Walter and Kathy were inspirational friends and colleagues who embraced life to the fullest. The world is a duller place without them both in it. All our love goes to the families and friends in the UK especially to Jamie, Emily and Olivia dont forget your New Zealand "family" loves you and is thinking of you.

We have just heard the news and we are devastated. We remember our wonderful time with Kathy and Walter in France and we were looking forward to them coming to NZ again with their family. We are grateful for those memories. Jamie, Emily and Olivia we will trail through our video footage and send it to you to look at when you are ready. Kathy and Walter were an inspirational, funny, interesting and generous couple. Our hearts go out to their 3 children.

Kathy and I shared a passion for education in its broader purpose of helping people to be greater than they believed they were capable of. She was vitality personified and truly lived every day. Through this, she taught me that life is about working for a better tomorrow but in a way that combines fun (she was full of it!)with commitment.
Kathy--you're not gone because your message lives on
