Its definitely not a neutral site. Neutral is a place equal distance and not in the home state of one team. One team drives 1 hour 30 minutes, the other flies that long. UGA's fan base is mostly in northern GA, UF has fans in Jax, Gville, Otown, and pretty much all over the state. The fans in the stadium are split 50/50, but it seems UF has the advantage. It would be interesting to move the game in the Georgia Dome to see what happens. As an FSU Fan, I think UGA's problem is that UF has the better football team! You could put the game in Iowa and UF will still win.

This situation is similar to when Auburn and Alabama always played in Birmingham. That wasn't neutral either, especially since Alabama played some of the 'home' games there.
It took a while but now Auburn and Alabama play a home/home schedule.
The Georgia/Florida game may have to consider rotating the site between Atlanta and Jacksonville or since it is no longer the "biggest cocktail party in the South", maybe they should just go to a standard home/home series as well.
It currently is a very exciting game and always make great television, but it definitely is not fair to Georgia.

When you have the greatest college qb, it really doesn't matter where the game is played.
But, you'd need guards in downtown ATL.
You can't tailgate there.
Nothing beats "The World's Largest/Greatest Cocktail Party"!

What a moron Richt is. The game could be played in Hawaii for all it matters - half the tickets belong to Gators, and half to Bulldogs - not sure how much more "neutral" you can get. He's just whining because we OWN the Bullpups. Jacksonville has Bobby Bowden Blvd., which could be considered enemy territory for Gators! Shut up Richt, put your big girl panties on, and DEAL WITH IT!

You clearly have never been to a UF/UGA game. The stadium is divided into sections. On each side of your section is the other teams section, all the way around the stadium. Half are Gators ticket holders, and the other half Bulldogs. It doesn't make a bit of difference what state it's in, or whose fans are in the city. It's a pretty neutral game, as half the fans are Gators, and the other half losers, which is why Richt complains. You never heard Doug Dickey complain, and Georgia owned us in his day. Vince Dooley didn't cry either ... because he actually won plenty of games.

you clearly didnt understand my post. I have been to that redneck fest of drunken morons with god awful accents and jorts. my whole point was about the travel. Every year UGA fans have to drive 5 hours while UF fans have an hour and half. that is not fair. its neutral by the amount of tickets and thats all. why is it in the high school version of FL vs. Georgia the site alternates?

I think what coach Richt is trying to say is:

"Waah! Waah! Waah!"

It was the worst whippin' the Dawgs EVER took 'tween the hedges! Doesn't make any difference where they play, the outcome will be the same!
