Records broken as temps hit all-time high

South Florida sweated through one of its hottest days ever on Monday as the mercury soared to 100 degrees in Fort Lauderdale , tying the all-time record for that city, set on Aug 4, 1944. Full Story

You know, a lot of people doesn't know or don't want to face the fact that today’s science understands and confirm what the Mayas and the Chinese knew... today our technology put a date on what still to come, December of 2012. I learned about it on Discovery Channel or maybe TLC channel. Very hard to believe it, but its coming

I'll wait for Jesus to return. If that happens to be when the Mayas or Chinese, or even ALGORE predicted it, fine, whatever. At least all this nonsense will be done.

you are an imbecile, Neil has more talent than anyone in the history of South Florida radio. The word police @ Beasly Broadcasting castrated his show, leading to it's demise. His voice of reason will be sorely missed . We love you, Neil God!

I distinctly remember Christmas Day(s) in Florida where the temp was 95*, and Christmas Day(s) where turning on the heat was needed 20* and below. Also Christmas Day(s) where the power grid was overloaded because of that. It does sometimes snow a little here too.

There have been days here where the temps were 109*

So, no, not global warming.
Just weather.
If you want a perpetual, constant temp, you won't find it on this planet.

I love the heat, and hate the cold...but, growing up it was almost always very cold on my Birthday at the end of October.

That ended happening around 20 years ago...

Do I believe the planets climate is changing, 100% yes.

Do I believe man is even partially responsible??? Hell no, rather arrogant to believe we can even influence something this size.

Living in Florida in 1944 was great. A lot better than now. Wish you could have been here. America was kicking ass.

Nope.. South Florida just went through a week long baking, the likes of which have never seen before by modern man.

This is just a taste of what's to come.

While average global temps are 0.73C(1.3F) higher. The warming over land is twice that of the oceans.(2F higher over land.)

Locally, Florida is running well ahead of the average. Given our latitude is roughly similar to major deserts of world, one should not be surprised if we become the next desert.

http://www.enchantedlearning.com/biomes/deser...

Notice how most of the major deserts are centered around the topic's of Cancer and Capricorn?? Guess were Florida is??

Oh, and we're not done yet.. Scientists now think the IPCC projected warming of +2C by the end of the century was a MAJOR UNDERESTIMATION. I.E. Mankind has failed to mitigate CO2 emissions as assumed by the GW models.(Instead mankind greatly increased CO2 emissions).

http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2008/04/02...

New target +5C(+9F) average temp increase by the end of this century.
But average land temps will increase by twice that over oceans,+14F.

Have a nice day.

So in 1944, it was hot like this. Now 65 years later it is again.

Look, winter has been getting shorter and shorter in South Florida. I am not complaining, but I have seen it with my own eyes.

Again, just because I use the term global warming doesn't make me a wacko liberal tree hugger. I drive a F-450 my man, and consume more electric than five homes. I am just not blind.

I expect we will be hearing about global cooling in a few years, since these things happen in cycles and man is 1,000,000 years away from being able to influence the sun and a planets orbit or declination.[if ever]

Do you think the Chinese or the Indians care?

Central and South America, Africa and Asia are on fire, literally.

People in these areas live and eat via wood burning and this occurs all year round.

Yet, I'm supposed to feel guilty is I want to eat a steak!
