FSU places itself on probation; will reduce sports scholarships

i chose fsu b/c of the playing situation and b/c of coach lilly. 2 punters and one did both so i was in the thick immediately. i was prepared to go to UF from january of senior year til may. then coach lilly called and invited me for fall practice. i left 3 days later and enrolled in summer school. had nothing against UF, just thought it would be better for me personally. had many friends going to both so thats it! now you all know my personal life!!

FSU has always had a subpar athletic program. Bobby Bowden has always recruited "student athletes" who end up skirting the law. I seem to remember some of his players helping themselves to large appliances off a loading dock in the late 1980s. Then there was Free Shoes University. And let us not forget his star QB a few years ago using a handicapped tag to park in the handicapped spots. There is a reason the panhandle is considered lower Alabama. Go Gators and Caines!!
