What is in front of our faces is simple..
Management through ownership, are not productive or quality NHL material..
The attitude and disregard for the fans and south Florida public is nothing short of disregard and disrespect.. Cohen and Yormark have not respected the NHL franchise and have betrayed the spirit of owning an NHL team..
A sports franchise is a trust, owners are twmporary, the team lives on..
They should have invested in a Circus, thats how they run this franchise..
Next season will be the same, just much less season ticket holders..

Well now, lots of posts above criticizing the Panthers when they haven't even made any off season moves yet. I mean, negativity is one thing, but discussing with certainty that bad decisions will be made by management before those decisions are made really takes the cake. Can you at least give them time to screw up before you criticize? When you go in for surgery do you also criticize the doctor for mistakes he is going to make in surgery? Perhaps a few of you are jumping the gun. How about waiting to see what happens and then either applaud the moves or criticize them. But give them time to do something in the off season before you cut them down, for crying out loud. Or, is that asking for too much common sense around here?

I personally think JM will leave. That would make major waves within the organization. Hopefully, DeBoer will stick around, he's an asset and a keeper. But the point is, until they have time to do something in the off season, I am going to enjoy the NHL playoffs on center ice. Becuase unlike some of you, I enjoy hockey more than whining.

<quoted text> You mean "tip his hand" like when he drove Jokinen's name through the mud so that his trade value went down? Martin isn't a very good GM (it's on the job training for him), and that coupled with a terrible owner in Alan Cohen, and a twat waffle running the front office in Michael Yormark.. you get a perfect combination for.. "Las Panteras Mediocres de la Florida"..
Jokinen was way overrated and a selfish player, as we all now know. And I'm sorry I cant agree with you on JM as I think he's done an admirable job as GM. Its not easy when he's both coach and GM , but in the GM job he's doing a good job. He's gotta get alot of the credit for a good hire in DeBoer and for this years improvement.

This is proven as they carried on whining when the team was in 5th. Enough said. Thanks.
And we were justified, weren't we? The team failed, just as we said it would.

For once, I'll agree with Louie. Let's enjoy the playoffs for now. As far as the Panthers are concerned, while my expectactions have been lowered to unthinkable levels, I'll wait till free agency begins and see what happens. History is not on the Panthers' favor, but we'll see.
and yes, JM must go!

I do agree with you on that, Numbers Guy, you are way too quick to unjustifiably criticize the Panthers and in fact that is all you do. So, you see, we agree on your baseless constant criticism and your constant negativity and your living in the past. It is nice to see that we have an area of agreement.

go to see the hot chicks, the Ice Dancers or just to drink. Sports in Florida and throughout America is just entertainment anyway. It's a way for American's to be entertained for two hours and pay through the nose for that entertainment.
There are no dynastic, memorial teams with franchise players you can follow and support. The Dolphins? The Marlins? The Panthers?
Just hire a roller derby team and make the ticket and beer prices affordable already.

No, 95 was the number and that's what you need to at least get in. I posted that months ago.

This year 93 only got a tie for 8th, but 95 put a team solidly in. Last year 94 was for 8th place, but 95 put a team solidly in. The year befgore that 92 was for 8th, but the spread from 5th place to 6th down was 11 points, so that skewed the numbers. And the before that only the 78th and 8th teams failed to reach at least 100 points.

95 points is the number a team needs to achieve to assure a spot in the playoffs. Anything less than that puts a team on the bubble.

Pedro, the playoffs will bring some great games. It is the best hockey time of the year, and although the Cats will unfortunately not be in there yet again, at least those of us who really enjoy hockey can watch and appreciate the great level of play in the NHL today. The Cats aren't there yet, but they are getting closer.

Like you, I too am concerned about what the Panthers will do in the off season, but I am at least willing to give them the benefit of the doubt before attacking. Like you, I think JM should go even though he did bring on DeBoer and even though the team did improve (although not on offense). But darn, some of the folks attacking and maligning the players, the owners, the management, and even the fans, are really a bit obsessed and over the top.

Any picks for who will be in the Stanley Cup finals?

Baseball game rules:Batters:scratch nutz, spit and chew, adjust cup and take a practice swing. Repeat 3x before looking at first pitch. Repeat until ball is hit or strike out.
Any questions.

41 wins is equivalent to a grade of C and far from failing...not to mention our best season in years.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Scorpio

Your thoughts turn to the past today, putting you in a nostalgic mood. You're awash with sentimental tears as you dwell on days gone by or gaze at photos of people you'll never see again. However, try not to let this mood of reminiscence turn into a tendency to feel sorry for yourself and therefore to demand special treatment from others.
