<quoted text> Your not very well informed. The growing trend is more and more free sites. How many times your site is hit is public info and advertisers will find you and pay you big bucks for a tiny add. In a sea of paysites, the free ones make the most money.
I'm not doubting what you're saying. All I'm saying is eventually all sites will charge fees to access and on top of it, still generate money from advertising ads

You are wrong. There will always be the balance of free and pay sites. I own both. As soon as the percentage of pay sites grow, a competing site always emerges to capitalize on the millions of hits he will receive by blowing out the competition by not charging. That would have to make a law "no more free sites" for that to happen. There will always be a constant flow of free sites for entrepreneurs like my self to make a killing on. Its one of the basic laws of internet marketing. I bet the local channel 10 site will take a lot of the customers that Sunsentinel is losing. The format is almost exactly the same, right down to their comment section.

Just visit miamiherald.com

They share the same news stories anyway, and the herald is still free.

Screw the Sun Sentinel for charging us to read their paper! They will no longer be a favorite and I'll get my news for FREE someplace else.

Is there a way to get the government to pay for it?

As of a matter of principle i wont pay sunsentinel their charge. I tip the waitress that for a five dollar burger but that is by choice. Local chnle 10 has the same format and they dont charge. Next they will come out with " sunsentinel.com (lite)" where they give you half the story......wait, they do that already.......

I used to read them every day on the website.
But I could not stand all the grammar and spelling mistakes.
Sad.
You can tell the people they hire to write are mostly English Not Their First Language people.
And it shows.
Let them lose revenue and go out of business.
And the whole time management will have that startled look on their faces, like they don't get it.
Of course they don't.

When their writers learn to write and they stop linking to outside sources for the rest of the article after 2 sentences and I have to stop looking at boobs in every other ad, then maybe. But most likely not.

I only read Sun Sentinel for the Dolphins news. I will revert to Miami Herald's free web site. I have lost enough dollars over the past to the rich. Not this one...
