What a joke! After you read a few stories on their site, it tells you now have to pay monthly or every 5 weeks or so to continue reading. Sad thing is I bet a bunch of you idiots will cave in and pay them. They already make their money from all the online ads they run on their site and those annoying popups you get. Its not like they're the only local newsite available. I just read elsewhere

I cannot believe they are going to charge now. What a flippin' joke. You think that drivel is worth paying for?? See ya, Sun Sentinel and Tribune. I hope you keep your online advertisers.

Ridiculous!! The management that made this decision needs to be fired! No doubt this will lose more customers/traffic to your site and to your ads. Less click through, because no local newspaper in America charges for their services. We can get the same stories on wptv, wsvn, or news 10. What makes your stories worth paying?
Sad what this has come to, cause i do enjoy your paper and subscribe W-S to the hard copy. I enjoyed reading on online more, however now I will consider both. I am truly disappointed.

The other news sources need to do the same. Nothing should be free

They should charge more each time it's accessed

That way they can hire real reporters that actually report the news the way it really happens

Every online news agency needs to charge a monthly fee. Same with ESPN and all sports sites as well. And lets charge users a fee to use facebook

This is a great forum. But I just have to ask, who the hell would want to pay for every website they enjoyed surfing? Who are you people?? You must work for the sun-sentinel...

Its called cut throat capitalism. This site should charge a nickel a post. Put in your credit card info and each post you make, they charge your account 5 cents

Very simple. They can make it like they do with SunPass. Open up a $100 account and it will get debited each time you post. Like it or not, eventually thats whats going to happen if people want to use boards like this. Also, facebook eventually will charge monthly fees to its members. Just a matter of time.

I "use to" read the online Sun-Sentinel everyday, and I'm sure their advertisers like to hear that. No longer, adios...I'm sure I can pick one of the 44 billion other sites that will satisfy my needs for the daily news that will not charge. Nice business move guys.

Your not very well informed. The growing trend is more and more free sites. How many times your site is hit is public info and advertisers will find you and pay you big bucks for a tiny add. In a sea of paysites, the free ones make the most money.
