The suspected drivers name is Gay Lord and it appears to stem from a domestic disturbance.

My question is this: Would you take a Wilton Manors police officer seriously if his car number is 69? My passenger and I saw that vehicle in Hollywood by the Target. In fact my passenger took a picture as we thought no one would believe us if we told them.

Tinkerbell and lab-rat, y'all got a problem. The man died, and y'all take the opportunity to make homophobic jokes. And Tinkerbell calls himself or herself a Christian? I don't know any real Christians that make jokes about people being killed in a car accident.

It's OPEN SEASON on PEDESTRIANS in SO FLA. F 'em, right? That's the mentality from out "leaders", and police that selectively enforce the law.

In Red neck GA, you step off the curb in a cross walk and doesn't stop, it's a $200 ticket. Here? You take your life in your hands every time you walk or bike on a road side.

The City of Wilton Manors made a huge mistake with their "Arts & Entertainment District". The city council believes supporting the bars along the drive means having almost no enforcement of the law or code.

What goes on along the drive and behind the buildings that line it, creates a mini-Mardi Gras atmosphere almost every weekend (weekends start on Thursdays here).

It's a wonder tragedies like this don't more often.

I find it really upsetting how some of you can joke about this like it's something funny and amusing that happened. A person lost his life, a person who has family and friends who will miss him deeply. If you've got nothing constructive to say, please don't say anything at all.

I grew up with this man. He wouldn't hurt a fly and was kind to every person he met. I'm glad I live in the midwest. Some of these comments are really disturbing.
This man was a dear friend of mine as well & I am honored to have known him. He has a family and many, many friends who are going to dearly miss him. Please take that into consideration when making comments. He was loved by many people.

You have taken away a dear friend. Louis Sarris was the most kind hearted, honest, loving person that this world has ever known. You have left a void which can never be filled. You have broken the hearts of his many siblings and parents and scores of people who had the honor of calling him friend. If you are not judged in this world you will be judged in the next. May God have mercy on your soul. I for one, do not.

notice how nobody is saying I was responding to a poster who was saying the typical "closet" slop to anyone who said anything against homosexuals? How is this about the man who was killed?

Has everyone remembered that the Pedestrian has "the right of way"?

My condolences to all friends and family of E. Louis.

This is a tragedy, period. Let's work on arresting the Perpetrator instead of placing blame on someone or something intangible. The Perpetrator is tangible and needs to be held accountable.

Take a walk on I95 and test that theory out.

There's a BIG problem with jaywalking down here. I'd like to see the cops start enforcing that law. I don't know if the guy that was killed was jaywalking, just griping about something I noticed.

does that not drive you crazy?? they just dart out in the street talking on thier cell phones! I had one a couple of days ago that ran out in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes...it was so important they cross at that moment and this person is waving at me as they run across the street and they are talking on the cell phone at the same time. Then couple that with people driving while they are talking on their cell phones or texting and it is no wonder there are so many people being hit by cars down here.

Pedestrians have right of way if they're in a crosswalk.

Wilton Manors has those orange cones at points down the road, but a lot of people ignore them and just cross where they are. Maybe they would be better off reducing WMD to one lane on Friday and Saturday; that would slow the traffic and give the drunks, er pedestrians, a better chance to make it across one lane at a time.
