If Cam thought Draft DAy was rough, wait a couple of years when Ginn and Beck are traded or placed on wiavers, the record is 2-14, and Cleo Lemon's jerseys are the hottest selling Dolphin item.

It makes my skin crawl that the coaches actually had to listen to the 'fans' who chanted 'Brady'. Those idiots dont deserve the acknowledgement or recognition. I for one am very glad the coaches/GM do not listen to the mouth-breathing hordes, otherwise we'd be stuck with marketing darlings instead of football players.

Sell tickets at the highest possible price while keeping costs at a bare minimum. We don't need to win to sell tickets. Winning cost too much. Selling the illusion that we can win next year is what keeps them tuning in. Keep reeling em in as we laugh to the bank.

the draft strategy is sound. a potential burner receiver will make whatever qb look good......whichever one starts. we got rid of alot of dead weight and should be in great cap shape for next years free agency(being on the bottom of the afc east with the highest payroll is no place to be). i like this years crop of rookies most should contribute.

The Dolphins chose as their first round pick, at No.9 overall in the 2007 draft, a 5-foot 10" (or was it 11"?) 178-pound player, Ted Ginn (Junior).

This player ran back an opening kick-off for a touchdown in a championship game, then injured his foot while celebrating the touchdown in the endzone.

This player may not be available for the next several months due to his foot injury.

To obtain Mr Ginn, the Dolphins passed over Brady Quinn who was at one time thought to be the No. 1 player overall in the draft, and despite the formidable physical talent's of LSU's JaMarcus Russell (a 6 ft- 6-inch, 260 pound QB)......was still thought to be the best QB in the 2007 draft.

The Dolphins needed a QB. Instead they drafted Mr. Ginn, an (injured) special teams player.

I have to respect Cameron & Mueller for showing accountability even to a bunch of impatient Dolfans who are shortsighted.

They gave a good rationale for bypassing Brady Quinn & getting both Ted Ginn & John Beck. Ginn and Beck are meant to be building blocks to putting together a team that can be perennial contenders. Brady Quinn is not the Dolphins' Messiah nor are Ginn & Beck. The same was true when the Dolphins had Marino for 17 years.(Too bad he didn't have the support of a running game like Elway had at the end of his career with Terrell Davis and a half-decent defense before Jimmy Johnson arrived.) Ricky Williams wasn't meant to be the Messiah either and look at how they put all the burden on him to carry the team before he took his hiatus in 2004.(I'm not justifying what Ricky did during that time.)

I believe you build championship teams by studying how it was done by championship teams of different generations whether it be Lombardi's Packers, the Dolphin buildup to their undefeated team & SB VIII, the Steel Curtain Steelers, Walsh's 49er's, Landry's & JJ's Cowboys teams, or the current Colts & Patriots organizations.

The championship Dolphin team was built via the draft (Expansion picks like Norm Evans, prime-round picks like Griese, Csonka, & Stanfill, mid-round picks like Dick Anderson, Kiick, Mercury Morris, & Jake Scott; and late-round picks like Twilley, Den Herder, & Mike Kolen), trades (Little, Warfield, & Buoniconti), waiver wires (Wayne Moore), and a bevy of free agents (Langer, Kuechenberg, & Doug Swift).

This current team needs to build in a similar fashion with an emphasis on stockpiling future draft picks & picking UFA's & other FA's that fit in with what the Dolphins want to achieve.

I'm glad that Cameron is allowing Mueller to do his job of evaluating and getting the right talent to fit in with the team.

This team has been either a mediocre playoff team or a plain mediocre team that either mercifully missed the playoffs or just plain stunk up the joint over at least the last 20 years. That was due to bad scouting and the fans, coaches, & GM's looking for a player that could fix the problem.

I confess hoping that the Dolphins would get Brady Quinn. But I'll support the idea of getting a breakaway WR in Ted Ginn & a mature QB who has an understanding of the game like John Beck. I also hope that some of the later picks & FA's pan out where some of them make the team & contribute.

Hey Darian whtat planet are you from. The Reciever from GT was commenly known as the best player in the draft. The media had Crybaby Quinn as the #2 QB behind JaMarcus. As it turns out the people in the know, The NFL GMs and scouts, didn't have Quinn that high.
Note: I do know the name of the GT reciever. I left it out so Darian could look it up. He needs to learn something about football anyway, and stay off the drugs.

Shut your piehole you clueless moron!

The key word there is THOUGHT? Who thought? You thought? Mel the bufoon Kiper thought? S_C_R_E_W ESPN. Those guys THINK they are capable of building a team. All they did was hype up people like the excitable Darian V into thinking Quinn is a can't miss franchise QB. Tell me something? How is he going to throw deep outs when his passes wobble like missile compromised helicopters?

Darian, The Vikings need a QB and they took an injured RB to split carries with the RB they just signed last year. Jacksonville benched their QB last year, but they took a safety. Hell, even Washington needs a QB,Brunell is older than I am and Campbell is unproven. They took a safety. Every team that needed a QB passed on Quinn at least once. Maybe Quinn just isnt that good.
And none of the DBs selected in the 1st 2 rounds could cover Ginn in college,so his size cant be much of a problem. Go watch what Ginn did to Leon Hall,Aaron Ross or Michael Griffin, all 1st round picks. If Ginn is just a returner, why would they be so highly ranked if they cant cover Ginn??
When several teams pass on Quinn, its for a reason. When guys who cant cover Ginn are still considered very good players,it means Ginn is that good.

Wow! It's amazing that they have to do this level of damage control over a draft pick. I can't remember ever hearing of this before that a Dolphins' draft pick caused this angry of a reaction that it may affect ticket sales (people must have called in by the droves with a lot of anger). I understand the logic behind the draft strategy of trying to secure a "true" #1 WR and an explosive RB since we don't have neither currently on the roster (a vindication of what some of us have been saying about Chambers and Ronnie Brown). If Ginn doesn't pan out, Cam and Mueller will soon be looking for new work, and by the way, Quinn was rated as the #2 QB in the draft by the Dolphins, as articles in the PB Post and Miami Herald revealed. He just was not rated that much higher than John Beck and so was not worthy of a high 1st round pick by the Phins. Will Chambers need to take a pay cut in the not too distant future to remain on team? The team is making it very clear that he is not a playmaking #1 but he sure is getting paid like one! GO PHINS!

I am seeing a rebirth of a quasi Manning Marino setup here. Also Do not forget the pickups after draft day 1. The Fins picked up a promising running back and also a free agent reciever with many tds. Lets put it this way. We may be saying : "Moore! Moore! Moore!"

Ever hear of Mark Clayton and Mark Duper?

This player ran back an opening kick-off for a touchdown in a championship game, then injured his foot while celebrating the touchdown in the endzone.
This player may not be available for the next several months due to his foot injury.

A sprained ankle, hardly a death sentence.

To obtain Mr Ginn, the Dolphins passed over Brady Quinn who was at one time thought to be the No. 1 player overall in the draft,(after slipping to #22 we find he wasn't) and despite the formidable physical talent's of LSU's JaMarcus Russell (a 6 ft- 6-inch, 260 pound QB)......was still thought to be the best QB in the 2007 draft.(by who? the team that picked him actually picked an O-lineman higher)

The Dolphins needed a QB.(we got one, John Beck) Instead they drafted Mr. Ginn, an (injured) special teams player.(between kick returns and third downs, he'll see plenty of touches)
Go buy a Cleveland jersey and root for Jan Brady Quinn.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Libra

An emotional situation is as clear as mud today. You aren't sure about your feelings for a certain someone, nor are you convinced that you know what they're playing at. They may be saying one thing and doing another, and you might even suspect that they're playing games with you or trying to get what they can out of the relationship. Or maybe you're imagining the whole thing? Admit it - at this stage you simply don't know.
