<quoted text> Yes, more than likely Georgia, LSU, FSU and possibly S.Carolina and/or Vandy (S. Carolina and Vandy were ranked last year when we played them). Tennessee will likely be ranked later in the season. PLUS a conference title game. PLUS a bowl game.
Better, yet, you tell me which teams WONT be in the top 20. Did you know that Ole Miss would end up a Top 15 Team last year? The Gators ended up playing against 11 bowl teams last year. Can you tell me which ones won't be good enough to even qualify for post season play this year?
And who are these 'friends' of yours? My guess is that their schedule isn't any better or any worse than Florida's.
I think that we have a 1 game regular season this year and it is against LSU. The Pride of the Sunshine could beat half of the teams.

I appreciate your passion for the Gators. I have it too. At one time in my life I had to take anxiety medication because I would get so wrapped up on Gator football. Now, I am able to deal with it better.

You don't think Georgia and FSU will be ranked? They both finished in the Top 25 in 2008, as did LSU.

BTW - I agree with you that UF's regular season will come down to one game. But I think it has more to do with Florida's strength and less to do with a weak schedule.

We had 65,000 at our Spring game.....

I'd bet $5000.00 that the "yew" doesen't get that many "fans" total if you combine their home attendance for this season's 1st three games....

I don't think that UGA or FSU will be ranked. UGA loses a lot and FSU has no receivers, defense, or field goal kicking.

Now hold on, The DAWGS will be ranked 15-20 when they play (?) down in JAX!

FSU will be better than last year, you can count on that. And they did finish in the top 25. Don't write off UGA just because of the Stafford/Moreno loss. They may lose 2-3 games before UF plays them, but they'll still be ranked in mid-November.

Don't count out Tennessee either. Frankly, they couldn't get much worse than last year and I think just on the emotion alone, Kiffin will have them in the Top 25 at some point, if not in the preseason Top 25.

Again, this will be a typical SEC year, even considering that some traditional teams - Auburn and Tennessee - had 'off' years.

The expectations of this UF team fuels the perception of the schedule being weak.

Florida is just that much better than everyone else, and playing Cal instead of Charleston Southern or Notre Dame instead of Troy won't change that fact. If everything plays out right for UF, that out-of-state OOC game will take place in Pasadena.

I find it interesting that none of the scUM fans here make apologies for winning national titles playing in the Orange Bowl several times, but they rip UF for it's OOC schedule. I'll take "Irony" for $500, Alex.

Good point... in 1983, Miami's 'toughest' games that year were against Florida (a loss), a 6-5 Notre Dame team, and an 8-3 West Virginia team. The rest of the schedule is littered with teams like Duke, Louisville, East Carolina, Cincinnati, etc. They then beat FSU by one point and then get a home bowl game against a team from the midwest.

I would just give up if I were you. Miami is just a few notches above 1-AA. UCF is the "U" and we will beat the snot out of you guys at Brighthouse Stadium this year and replace you in the BIG 3. The Gayturds wil be our next victim...Go Knights!!!
LMAO! You losers can't even beat USF and will never be a winning program until you fire the overpaid, under-performing George O'Liar.

You realize that these schedules are made 3,4,5 years in advance right? Did anyone imagine 5 years ago that FSU, UT, UGA, South Carolina would be having as down a year as their going to have?

If all these teams weren't doing so poorly and UF also scheduled a USC, Texas, OU, the fans would be screaming about how unfair it was to have to go through such a hard schedule when USC has 1 big game a year that they choke away or OSU's conference schedule.

I won't respect the Gators until they go undefeated AND wire-to-wire #1, all while playing the following schedule:

9/05 - at USC

9/12 - at Texas

9/19 - at Ohio State (a REAL champion doesn't have a bye week)

9/29 - Tennessee

10/26 - at '85 Chicago Bears (replaces Kentucky)

10/03 - at '72 Dolphins (replaces the 2nd bye week)

10/10 - at LSU

10/17 - Arkansas (it's homecoming...so a breather is in order)

10/24 - at Mississippi State (UF hasn't won here since the 80s)

10/31 - Georgia @ Jax

11/07 -'88 Notre Dame (replaces Vanderbilt)

11/14 - at South Carolina

11/21 - at Penn State (the weather should be perfect)

11/28 - FSU (finally another breather!)

Run that gauntlet and I'll show the proper respect

I agree. I am an FSU Alumnus, but I am a realist. Sports Illustrated rated the Gators #1 now that the spring games are over. It still might be difficult to go undefeated in the ultra-competitive SEC. But even if they don't, that hasn't stopped the Gators from winning a championship recently.

Why don't the Gators have a Division I wrestling team? There are no Gators in Mixed Martial Arts like Randy Couture from Oklahoma State's wrestling program or Brock Lesnar from Minnesota. My other Alma Mater, Arizona State, has Dan Severn and Cain Velasquez. The Gators should cultivate the in-state HS wrestling talent, which exists. The number of national championships in Division I wrestling for the University of Florida = 0. But at the Gators are great in football, which is awesome. It is important to stay objective in sports rather than losing out to emotional bias.
