Chiloquin Mayor - Letter of Resignation

Hello All, Regrettably I must inform you that I have recently resigned my position as Mayor of Chiloquin and would like to explain my reasons for doing so.

My wife Ruth and I have been coming to Chiloquin practically every year during the last 8 years or so, always for 2 months or longer. We had the pleasure of staying in a pretty little house Mark Cobb has rented to us. During that time we became good friends. Also, we were able to closely follow his becoming and working as the town's mayor. It was a job he invested much time in and we knew him to be proud of the obvious achievements he managed to get done for his community. We admired him for that. Then we saw him developing this entirely new and very creative business that soon became a leading player in the town's business community. That, too, was an admirable and very good thing for the entire town. Even in far-away Switzerland, we have been keeping up-to-date on the goings on in via the Chilowuin Newsletter. Unfortunately, a recent publication announced Mark Cobb's resignation as mayor and the collaps of his business. Things like that happen. However, the reason for this is not, as it mostly is, an economic, financial or marketing problem. We find the reason totally idiotic and, indeed, unreasonable. In addition, in a town so much in need of people who are willing to "stick their necks out" and do something good for the community, it seems fatalistic to say the least. We hope that Chiloquin will reconsider this thing and, if not, that Mark and his wonderful family will soon find a way to overcome the debacle and re-orientate themselves. Sorry for Chiloquin. Old School Market Economy business practices helped make his decision! Relying on uneducated job skills seemed monetarily advantaged, but not being connected to a global economy was futile to someone who thought they could move into a poverty stricken area and use old school tactics to make money. A jump ahead, too soon, by someone who isn't business educated and though that undereducated help could carry them on! He called ME a "Loser" on a post on this websit, and it came back to bite him in the a$$! Who's the LOSER, now? Not Me!! Being friendly and just hiring more to do his dirty work could not help out, and now the BOSS had to shut down, then Step Down as a Public Official? More to it to him, than we'll ever know!! All I can do is laugh in his face for calling a Home-Grown College-Educated Home-Coming Grad that nobody wanted, including him!!! HAHAHAHA!!! Business needs to accept new changes and hire home-grown business degrees in order to move ahead!! Do No Blame Me!!

I feel very sorry for the employees he hired in such a short amount of time, then had to burst their bubbles for income, because Real Business he did not know, and we have many to suffer, while he can just up and move away to relocate to try in another place!!

Why would he "resign" so suddenly?! He was a dickhead to me FIRST, because he thought he could be to ME! For What? Hey "Slick"!! There's date and time stamps on these posts you don't obviously notice!! Good Luck "Mayor" to someone who also resigned as "Mayor!" $hi+!! I ain't stoopid!! Cobb ran a newspaper article to recruit a Large Juniper Mill into Chiloquin because his own small business showed such a large demand for the product our Mayor was kicking out, so why did he have to close his little ass shop that definitely proves that a large juniper mill would've close a few years before this story ever started????

Don't blame me or get mad at me!! Accept the fact that you were duped, just as I've accepted my professional fact that I was duped by Charles Colombe with our first Casino's attempt to build before 1997, and since I was waken up by his fancy schmeel's with my newest Degree, now I know NOT TO TRUST INSTINCT like back in the Mill-Time Days!! I need to turn to my degree!!

And to "just 1 indian", you only know how to post on the internet, and not really know how to use computer programs that will back me in challenging all of you poser posters to challenge me to a spreadsheet posting contest, inner-tribally!!!!

I was the first to apologize for his efforts, because I know what he was up against, but he refused to recognize because he wanted to call me a "Loser" instead of admitting he didn't know what the hell he was doing with expansion of his own business, without really paying attention to his own business factors that told him to slow it down! He ignored those factors because he felt his mill-like attitudes were still alive, and now what? He has to close his shops, and WE ALL HAVE TO SUFFER and he can just close up and move away, and we're still stuck with wondering how to get back to work!!!

You know what? if you were not so incendiary in your verbal attitude you would be taken with a bit more sincerity as some of your points (not many) do have merit. But rather than attack the situation you choose more often to attack the person (and also read into others comments a personal vindictiveness) so that the readers here are instantly turned off by the mean site of another Peanut comment.

Hey n8vewarrior. I'm not crying. I'm stepping up! I defend my words that you take otherwise! You keep defending others, so you're obviously not on the frontline, but behind someone else and not in front of all like I am! And I might not have anybody behind me, but I don't care! Oh I should walk away from not knowing how to approach business with my business degree, and give way to a bunch of idiots who are going to let NIGC lay the hammer down on us, and embarass us throughout Indian Country? Once NIGC lays down the hammer, you all will be trying to backtrack and keep pointing your fingers at everybody else, because you all thought SOVEREIGNTY would bail all of you out of your uninformed decision to proceed with construction and Tribal Council Recall? Sovereignty was NEGOTIATED before we opened our Casino, and now $1.7 Million will have to be paid back, after the Travel Center project comes to another halt, after the money runs out, then we'll really have over a $5 million project that could've been under $4 million about 8 years ago! QUIT WASTING OUR PER CAP FOR NEXT YEAR! The $1.7 Million used is about $188 per Tribal Member for our next per capita payment!! I'm Pissed Off! But everybody else will be happy without any per-cap and will be pissed at me because they got $188 less on our next per cap!! YOU CAN'T FIX STOOPID!!!
