"Clark Energy Group and Acciona Solar Power have been tapped to develop the project. They'll finance and build the plant in exchange for leasing the military land."

Interesting, where exactly is this 2 billion in financing going to come from? Perhaps some stimulus money from the taxpayers themselves? In an earlier article,it seemed to be a Government project. The question still remains as to what if any taxpayer money will go to this project. If the financing is at least partially from the Government, then isn't it double taxation to put in a plant and charge the local utilities for the excess power generated? Then again with bundled line and energy charges, wouldn't it be tripple taxation?

I am wondering if Buy America is enforced and all the solar panels and electronics are made in US?
It would be much better to make a smaller plant say 1MW, then to scale it up or repeat it.

This seems to be using Tax Payer's money. I hope that there will be some public haring on this and to make the project financial totally transparent. To identify how mcuh of $ is from Tax payer.

WE have surplus of Energy, our schools do not have fund and we make such large project in deser, brake this in 6kW units and install it in every school.
