What do people think of Rick Thompson for Gov. I know he's from Fort Gay, but don't know anything else about him. Would he make a good candidate for Gov. Does he acknowledge where he's from FG

There has never been an elected official for state government that cared at all about Wayne County. The money in the state is not in Wayne County so they don't care about it. I expect the same would be true even for Rick Thompson. My advice would be to vote for the person that is going to lower taxes on small businesses, will join with other states to make Obama care unlawful in Wv, and commit to the completion of the interstate highway through Wayne County and beyond to the Va. border. The new governor should also commit to working with governors of other states such as Fl. and Michigan to stop the flow of drugs into the state.

There was a post that's been deleted. It was posted by someone with a screen name of Courthouse Observer. Just proves that Rick Thompson and his minions have the power ! The post was only an opinion, and not that inflammatory yet lo and behold it's been deleted.

The post went something like this :

Would Rick Thompson make a good Gov. for WV

He's a liar !
He's a Lawyer !
He's a career Politician !
That should be reason enough 'not' to vote for this candidate. He's even been saying in his campaign ad on TV that he bought his "granny her first telephone". The ad shows an elderly woman opening a box and removing an old style phone. Everyone should know that back in those days the telephone company provided the actual telephone, no one could buy a phone. The phone even had stamped on them "property of C&P telephone company". The post went on to say that what a shame it was that politicians tried to portray themselves to be be something their not, And that these type of tactics should make everyone sick to their stomachs. That politicians were vampires (how true) and that West Virginia needs Rick Thompson, like Germany needs anther Hitler.

Obviously, if this little post can be bought away from Topix anything can be bought. What happened to the second amendment? All I can say is that Topix is buy-able by the politicians !

Dont see any change for WV, every election the good people of wayne county vote the ARAB (Rahall) and his counterpart in the senate Rich Rocky back in office, the only one you have sent to DC with any balls is Joe Manchin and he wont be there long if he keeps bucking BARROCK HUSSIEN OBAMA.So keep on voting these far left liberals in. WV is already concidered a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY. OH by the way get ready for $5.00 and higher gas prices, till we start drilling our own and expand coal and nuc. energy. The mentality in WV "I DONT CARE WHO GETS ELECTED AS LONG AS IT DON'T EFFECT MY MONTHLY CHECK" this crap has gotta go.

It seems Rick Thompson is making an extraordinary effort to convince the ignorant voters of West Virginia that he is just another common country bumpkin. We people who know the truth about him, know he is a wealthy, ambitious attorney clawing his way to the top of the West Virginia government bureaucracy. He's loaned over $100,000 of his own money to his campaign. In his TV commercials, he tells us he intends to stop oil companies from price gouging West Virginians. Does he intend to stop lawyers from price gouging their West Virginian clients too?

West Virginia needs a true leader. Someone who will stand up to the "Washington Elite".
Since Shelley Moore Capito decided not to run, Betty Ireland has my vote.
Rick Thomspn? He just drops slime

Saw were Thompson is leading pack in Utility companies campaign money coming in. This should tell the voters something ! Maybe I know a little too much about this guy personally, but I think everybody that has had dealings with this guy will agree, he's crooked !

I hear he still has family around here, mother, some sisters and a brother from mom second marriage, but does he keep in touch with them as part of a family group. Is he around here much since he's in politics? I hear these family members are nice. He sad to know a local boy is just as bad as all the other politicians.

I love how people in WV bash "ObamaCare" when they are presently drawing welfare/food stamps/WIC/Medicare/Medicaid.. ...Which are ALL programs that have been or currently are being fought against by the GOP. I would love to see a questionnaire at the senior center that asks "Do you agree with Socialized Medicine?" Then when the uninformed idiots say "NO" tell them "Fine, then I guess you won't be needing this Medicare/Medicaid then!" In the 60's Republicans said that if Medicare went into effect we would be a communist country within 40 years - All because the rich man didn't want to foot the bill for a poor old man's medical bills. Now 40 million Americans benefit from this program. Don't believe the GOP spin machine....Don't vote for someone based on what you saw on TV or read on a stupid message board like this one. Educate yourselves on the issues and vote with your real brain, not the one that Fox news gave you.
