Why are they coming over here and promising all of our good players to come over there. I guess they can't do it on their own. They have brought kids from nitro and now they are trying to get kids from fort gay which they have done for years. I know this personal because my nephew went over there. It just wondering why they did that.

First of all....Lawrence County doesnt ask Fort Gay kids to come over....they do it ono their own. Usually a parent gets upset with a coach...normally over not getting playing time....and Lawrence County is the closest place to go. Not to mention...Lawrence County has better facilitiies and puts way more emphasis on education. Second of all....the same thing happens at Tolsia. Over the years there has been several Lawrence County kids move over to Tolsia mostly for the same exact reason...SPORTS. It goes both ways....so there's no reason to carry on about it. There will always be parents that thinks their kids are awesome and deserves more playing time. This will always result in a parent hating the coach and moving the kid.

Well right now Lawrence County has the better team...so thats why you see Tolsia kids coming over. In a few years when Tolsia has the better team you will see Lawrence Co kids headed over there. It happens with basketball also. It all depends on who is winning...it always have. When I was in school several Lawrence Co kids went over to play basketball at Tolsia because LC sucked...thats just the way it goes!

What she is asking is why do they come to Tolsia youth league A games and talk to kids about coming to LC?

Afraid of competition?

You will never convince me that LC puts for emphasis on education....
Our son attended TOLSIA, played sports and has all the plaques and trophies which we display proudly. But, when entering college those shiny things were no benefit at all. The best thing that he took with him from his years at TOLSIA was a very nice ACT score that earned him several scholarships including West Virginia’s Promise Scholarship which pays 4500.00 of his tuition. This may not seem to be so important to you who have 12 year olds but believe me it will sooner than you think.

LC has always used Fort Gay players. That's just how they go about it. Fred Dean and Hostetter are two prime examples!!!!!!!!!!
And I seen him talking to the big Jennings kid. I don't think he is from Louisa.
I'm glad they finally got Jeremy tho! LOL

Why does it matter as long as the kids get to play a sport that they like? I think that a couple of the retarded parents need to just shut their mouths and let the kids play.

The only thing wrong with this is if you are going to let your kids play on one side of the river or the other. Be honest and either move or pay tuition..........Don’t teach your children that it is okay to lie, cheat and steal because that is exactly what some parents are doing. The same rules apply to everyone in order for your child to receive a free education in a public school you must reside in and pay taxes in that school district.

I dont have a 12 year old but I do know that it is a normal thing for grades to be fixed for certain people who play sports at Tolsia. I know this first hand...its not hear say. Things like that are not tolerated at Lawrence County. I dont think one school is better than the other....I like them both and follow both of thier team sports. I was just saying that you will always have kids coming across the river to go to another school mostly because of sports. Right now Lawrence Co has the better team so right now Tolsia kids are coming there. In a few years when Tolsia has the better team....Lawrence Co. kids will be wanting to go there. Its been happening for years and it will always be that way. No use in carrying on about it. And by the way....I make sure that my child makes good grades. She has always been a straight A student and she knows that she will be in big trouble if it doesnt stay that way!

I graduated from Tolsia and all of my siblings did. I had several family members teach at Tolsia and I have never heard of this foolishness.

Maybe a few Teachers might do it but let me tell you it is not widespread.

I don't think so.

The Teachers are responsible for the grades.
