GLEN HAYES, W.Va.ó Classes are operating on scheduled this morning, but the Tolsia High School football building has some rebuilding ahead.

An overnight fire reportedly destroyed the teamís facilities building. A teacher answering the telephone Tuesday said the block building may not be leveled, but its contents are gone.
Those contents reportedly include uniforms, pads and other equipment.

Wayne County 911 reports dispatchers received word of the fire about 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Firefighters remained on scene at 7 a.m., but the fire had been extinguished, according to a dispatcher.

No injuries were reported.

The facilities building houses locker rooms, an equipment room and coaches offices. It is not connected to the school building.

WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va.(WSAZ)-- An early morning fire has destroyed the football facility building at Tolsia High School in Wayne County.

A school administrator says firefighters were called to the school around 3:00 a.m. Tuesday.

The official tells WSAZ.com that the building housed the football locker room, weight room, equipment area and offices. We're told all of the team's uniforms were in the building.

No word on how the fire started, but Assistant Superintendent, Mike Rutherford says the fire is being treated as a crime scene right now.

The Fire Marshal and a K-9 unit are on scene.

Rutherford tells WSAZ.com that someone saw lights from a pair of flashlights in the woods behind the building around the time the fire was reported.

Wayne Superintendent, Gary Adkins says both Wayne and Spring Valley have offered replacement equipment. New equipment has already been ordered.

The facility building is behind the football field, and separate from the main school building. Classes are going on as scheduled at Tolsia High School on Tuesday.

Tolsia is scheduled to play Wayne Friday night.

This is sad, I hate it for the boys and coaches. My son plays football and I hate this. And IF they take donations from they other 2 schools thats sportmanship that's all I can say, some may disagree with this.

It doesn't matter what we play in. Fort Gay and Crum always got the short end of the stick in Wayne County anyway. Back in the early 1960's Crum couldn't even afford uniforms and had to wear mis-matched stuff.

If Tolsia has to do that then so be it. We will still be proud of our team.

I am so sorry for the Rebels! But I have to agree, way to go Wayne and Spring Valley! We all may be rivals, but when it comes to helping out your "brother" or "sister", we are all in it together. That really shows true sportsmanship, from all teams and I am proud to say I am from Wayne County. It will all work out for the Rebels and maybe these boys can get back to it. Good luck guys..keep your head held high!

all these kid no matter what school they go to work hard and love to play, its a shame that this happened. Its great that the other schools are reaching out to help. If they play, win or lose friday, just getting to play is a victory after what has happened. It would be terible for a season to be ended like this. Our players deserve better!

thank you Wayne and Spring Valley, that is so nice that u offer to help our school and though we are considered rivals, we appreciate it alot. it is stupid whoever did this but God only knows and the only thing i can say that if the person who did this is reading "you reap what you sow" so it will all come out in the end.
