annoyed/junk house

I found the following on rants and raves on Craigslist. I have to agree, I have walked by this house on main and Vincent with my dog as well. Typically I see several children in the yard alone and even near the road.

The yard looks like someone dumped a garbage truck in it. If the yard looks like that I can only imagine what the inside of the house looks like.

Several times their mouthy little dog has jumped out of the open window, the open door or was just loose and came after both me and my dog. It's a small dog, but it growls and barks every time it comes near us.

I've changed my walking route, it's just sad this place is on the main road heading into Carthage. Makes the whole town look bad when that's one of the first things you see.

Where is the code enforcement officer, and what does he/she get paid for? There are two specific homes in West Carthage that are either "starter" sites for future landfills, or already inside of them. There are others too, but these are on main streets clearly in public view.

They are located at the intersections of Main Street, and Vincent, and at the intersections of Madison and High.

The one on Main Street has so many toys/junk on the sidewalk that people literally have to go to the other side of the street. There is everything from Old car batteries, beer cans, to broken toys. I understand that children are messy, that is why you have to pick up after them, or teach them to pick up after themselves. Although I don't think the children are responsible for the car batteries or the beer cans. Which probably explains why the kids stuff is everywhere.

Regarding the High Street house, the inside of this place must be a landfill, because that is what it smells like. I was walking my dog and he wanted to do his business right there, but I dragged him further down the street just so I didn't have to spend any more time there. Needless to say I now walk on the other side of the street. And what is up with al of the junk vehicles; Is this a repair facility, or a junkyard?

These two homes are clearly in violation of city codes, yet nothing is seemingly being done about it...I feel sorry for the neighbors of the above homes.
