I've been to two races lately. I've witnessed the Copenhagen team slip into the abyss. Several weeks ago at Lake Placid the team captain couldn't take losing in an event and tried to file a bull shirt grievance, the crowd booed, rightfully so.. The captain was then spoke to by a member of the public and embarrassed..

Last week in Elsmere the captains son swore at an official, who happens to be the president and member of the Copenhagen Fire Dept. According to the rule book, he should have been banned from the drill. I guess the official didn't want to hurt his hometowns chances so he kept quite. Maybe he is afraid that the family will attack him like they are the female member of the department.

It's a shame that members of others teams have to listen to the disrespect and be a part of the both mans antics. I guess the apple truly doesn't fall far from the tree.

Now we have the captains wife barking orders on the teams second Facebook page. I thought she wasn't in the department. Further more she is demanding that others get involved because she's worried about her father inlaw.

This guys is 86 according to her, he's probably been on his own for 70 years. It's my guess whether others were there or not this gentleman is doing exactly what he wants. If your worried, she could join the department and tell him that she'll do all of his tasks. I'll bet he won't let her. He is and always will be at the station, no matter who is there. So quit britching at everyone else. He is an example of a true small town hero, his family could take lessons.

Copenhagen, I hear your down to eight members, maybe you guys should stay home from the states so you don't embarrass the Northern New York Association. Worse than you have!

It's ironic that this family continues to whine and cry about their treatment, yet they continue to drag other people through the mud. It's a shame the one standing up to these thugs is a relative outsider to Copenhagen.

Keep up the fight young lady, you are gaining supporters everyday, while the drill team membership is shrinking. Plus it sounds like they are starting to alienate the other drill teams in Upsate NY.

As chief judge for the event at Elsmere no one swore at any official that I can remember. You should get your facts straight. There was no swearing on the part of an y Copenhagen firefighter as far I know and I am sure if the official heard something they would have stated it. We only had five officials and two were from Copenhagen.

Apparently this was ajudgement call on the part of the official. Complaints are made to the chief judge by officials. Nothing happened in this case, please quit maligning the officials for the job they do. It is volunteer and in any sport they do make mistakes, it is not a full time job.

So your guys take away from the first post was the officiating? Did we even read the same post? Mine was the continued lack of sportsmanship and poor attitude of several members of the Copenhagen team. Mainly the same family repeatedly.

The captain of this team has driven away person after person with his I don't give a crap attitude. It's his way or the highway and he is losing members one at a time. I can't wait till next year!

Sounds to me like the officials have a guilty conscience.

I think that it is interesting that you post about the lack of a call for a team member swaring and here you are posting with sware words...is that do as I say not as I do.

As a spectator at Elsmere I noticed a group of young men from out of the area that had not seen these events before and it was the Copenhagen team that they were cheering for. Give these young people a chance . How many other teams have young blood on their teams. Actually wasn't it a membr of the GB team that was given a warning for language which is the first call for the official to make.

Why are your postings constantly including the name of this family...do you feel inferior to them or superior to they. Either way, you really don't know them as well as you think you do. Instead of always trying to start a problem why not try really supporting them for a change...you might find that might make a difference in your life and theirs.

Just thought I would let you know there is more than one side to this issue.

Because I'm sick of them ruining Copenhagens name and dept. you spectator have no clue what they are doing to certain individuals in the department. Ask someone who is not on the drill team. Until these guys quite dragging a young women's name thru the mud I will continue to post. They've now involved other teams in the departments internal bs

Not all spectators are clueless and many are well aware of what is being done....Some might say some individuals cause their own problems perhaps because they love the attention and are insecure. I love these young people and I wish each and every team the best and hope they will continue what they do.
As for this young lady, I wish her well and hope she can find contentment in serving her community and that she will remember the reason she joined in the first place. It does take team members and a team normally means there are a number of people and personalities involved and each one needs to work with each other and not against each other. I have witnessed this team thru both the good times and the tough times, in the past and the preset and I believe they have been and still will be one that will be there for anyone.

It seems that one member is posting about the drill team. There are over 40 members of the department. I believe that those in the department have independent minds and doesn't necessarily listen to certain members to make decisions. I support what spectator says concerning this matter as she does see what is going on and is a spectator at most events.

All this needs to end. So you know I know this female personally. She does not want nor need any of this bullshit and drama. Keep her out of your posts. Supporting her or not, putting her on here alone makes her look bad and opens her up to bashing from the local idiots.

She goes out of her way for that damn department. She took time away from her child to take FF1 and goes to every damn drill team bullshit event and takes the pictures. Yet she gets shit on every chance these "members" get. One threatened her life and not a an thing was done. I'm tired of this crap! Leave her alone.

I could care less about Copenhagen fire department and their drill team. I care about her and her son. You people don't even think about the repercussions this an forum can have for her.

Grow up all of u!

Talk about something else and leave her OUT of it!

Actually I did not mention a name either...and that subject was brought into an earlier post and I do feel that many members of the department are getting bad raps as well and as I stated I care about all of the people in this department and in this community and I am sorry that things have happened as they have but may have well been prevented by cooperation by all parties involved. I am sorry you don't care..and maybe that is the biggest problem when people stop caring about each other.
I will not continue to post..and I apologize if you were offended but sometimes it does take another view to try to help make a bad situation better.

I hope the drill team and the fire department succeed. I just want this all to end.

If donewithu is done why are you still posting.you say don't care about Copenhagen or the dept. only a person...so why don't you butt out and let those parties involved take care of their own problems and stop using this social media for your outburst.

I wouldn't have said a single word if people would just stop talking about her.

And I said that out of anger and I apologize. There are several members I care about, and all I want is the fighting to end. I'm tired of it. I'm sure everyone is.
