Just a warning to the parents and general public: The Copenhagen Field Days are this weekend.

Beware of poor behavior, underage drinking, fighting and other acts of dabouchery.

The sign says family fun night, not sure many would agree.

They drank in both parades which were family events. Why the hell wouldn't they drink at their own field days?

I normally would go and support the local FD, but why? They are just gonna buy booze with my donation.

It's people like the two in the last two postings that spoil the good things the department does in the community. Besides the events in Friday night are not just sponsored by the Fire Department the auxiliary and other agencies are also involved.

Don't be mad because people are honest about thier expectations. I heard that one of the new members was peeling an officers ass last night. In public view of others.

Lady, you are a nobody in terms of the fire service get over yourself, your a vote that's it, that's the only reason you got in, a vote for drill team agenda. If your pissed about contributing stay home! I know for a fact if you did others would show up. I stay home because you and your mouth are there.

We all know who it was that was peeling amd being peeled. I can't belive he didn't snap on her. I've seen what happens when pat gets mad. You don't want to be around. Maybe she doesn't know that. Maybe she doesn't realize who he talks to after he gets his ass reamd by them. Maybe she doesn't realize what real damage she is doing. Not only to herself, but the the entire team. For what she does, not only could they be shut down, she could face charges in the fire dept, but possible civil harassment charges as well. Hopefully she calms herself before she wakes the demons inside him, or the ones he vents to. They may not be of authority, but they are of high respect.

some of you posting are blatantly sick and pathetic, it is reasonable to be honest about expectations based on previous problems but the threatening and hyped up language used in these postings is enough proof that people are sitting behind their computer getting a good laugh at the problems that ensue everytime they decide to be a keyboard warrior for the day, this isn't the place to voice concerns and expectations without giving a chance to not only the department or drill team but other organizations that have been working together to make the field days and communication with the community better, please realize they should almost always be taken with a grain of salt, they are made to promote problems and drama that DO NOT already exist or have already been settled by the parties involve, these are hearsay posts made BECAUSE things have improved or become non-issues after being dealt with more maturely, i have spoken with several people preparing for not only the family night tomorrow but the whole weekend and they are genuinely concerned about trying to build a bridge between these organizations and the community and they are putting a lot of hard work into the process, i am not fond of what has occurred in the past with the department or their internal affairs but i am enough of an adult to realize that many people do not truly know what occurred in the past and much of what was said on this website and around town were stories that grew through speculation as they were passed around. i have younger children and attended several village board meetings out of concern for the safety of my family and the turn out of our community and general public that was apparently "outraged" by the department and drill team was highly insignificant, the DEPARTMENT was represented at these meetings and there was effort to oblige with the village board and forthcoming community concerns,

i took my children to see the lowville fair parade and saw the racing trailer go by with the members for line-up, there were children/families on the street just as excited to see the racing trailer versus the fire engines that were yelling, those in the department and team waved to them and then on this website they get bashed for something like that, the department that my husband is in often rides to the line-up on a truck or other apparatus, they have for years, they also have been known to have a couple beers while waiting for parades and it is harmless, don't make it out that the department or drill team is doing something terrible by having a beer before marching in a parade, we saw them leaving the fairgrounds as well and i did not see any person drinking anything besides water or soda at that point, later on i saw a member and their family eating at a food tent talking to another firefighter about the accident calls from the storm that many of them had left to go to, many people go somewhere, few drinks and drive home legally and in control, it's really not a problem

All I have to say is Zero Tolerance, not a few drinks! ZERO TOLERANCE, Just in case you don't what that means it means none, not one single drink. The bylaws are for every single member.

my comment was only regarding marching in the parade itself, the comments on this forum were regarding members having a beer before marching in the parade, i assume you are making a statement about firefighters going to a call after drinking, if so, there were enough members and people of position from both copenhagen organizations present to handle the situation right then and correct the behavior, if the bylaws state zero tolerance for consuming alcohol and marching in a parade then i understand the concern and people should have been sent home immediately. if you are insinuating that members who were drinking went to a call against bylaw rules, then you of all people (if you are truly a member) should be providing proof and pushing for the situation to be addressed internally, not lashing out on a stranger giving their opinion on this forum

One thing about low expectations you don't get real upset with poor results. Lots of alcohol being consumed by the members.

We ruin it. I'm pretty sure your pathetic group of degenerate FF's do that all by themselves. It wasn't me drinking and hiding up my beer to get pics at the parade that would be your dept.

For all the naysayers the event tonight was a success and the children that came really enjoyed it. Also know that a lot of people from out of town really thought it was great to have a night for children and no alcohol. Also to let you know the firefighters did not drink. I know it will not shut you up but sometimes the truth hurts.

The ones I saw were of a firefighter and some old lady eating at a table and a huge empty parking lot.

Check them out for yourself. The FB page was easy to find
