To the family and friends of Sgt.Robert "Matt" McDowell
Matt and my daughters grew up together in Deer Park,TX. He was always sneaking cookies and playing basketball in front of our house. My sincerest sympathy goes out to his family. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

I wish my condolences for all the families of the fallen soldiers. Over the last 5 years we have heard of the thousands of soldiers killed but it brings the war to a new light when it is within your own circle of family and friends.

Sgt Robert McDowell was a husband, father to Nathan Matthew 1 month old and Madison Michelle 5 years old,a son,a friend to many and my nephew.

Matt--you will be missed and I want you to know your memory will never die. We have laughed and cried together and even laughed at each other. I am so very proud of you, our hero.

We all love you and will cherish every moment we were blessed to share with you!

I served with Spc William Bowling, he was a great worker and a good friend. i always made fun of him because of his red stang..I will always think of him when i watch Napolean Dynamite. He started to act like him and talk like him when i first got to the unit. then he left for MP school. my sympathies are with your family. Expecailly your wife.

I met William Bowling a handful of times when he so kindly followed my son home from Ft. Drum on his way home to Kentucky whenever they got a long weekend. He was an exceptional young man who my son became very good friends with. My heart goes out to his wife, daughter and his parents. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, and my son Travis will keep you in his thoughts and prayes also. He truely thought of William like a brother and he will never be forgotton.

The USA is so blessed to have such brave servicemen and women who take up arms to protect our country's people, freedoms, and quality of life. They go into battle without questioning the political leadership, and are punished if they say anything while on duty. Please be alert to false political statements, because so many lives depend on our military forces.
