Carthage man accused of abusing child

Robert L. Sixberry Sr. A Jefferson County man had sexual contact with a 13 year old girl on several occasions, according to State Police.

A Jefferson County man had sexual contact with a 13 year old girl on several occasions, according to State Police.

The incidents happened in the Lewis County Village of Lowville, according to investigators with Lowville State Police.

Robert L. Sixberry Sr., 54, Carthage, is charged with 2nd degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was issued appearance tickets for an appearance in Lowville Village Court on August 4th.

This guy SEXUALLY ASSAULTS a helpless 13 year old girl and for an entire week sits around waiting for a COURT DATE? Wow... Someone paid his bail...until his court date he is free. Thats how the judicial system works, the only way he would still be in jail is if he could not make bail. It goes along with that whold "innocent until proven guilty" thing.

This man did not go to jail! THAT is the point! An appearance ticket means you dont go to jail, you just show up to court! So this man is still walking around, able to do this to any other young girl he wants to! THATS how the judicial system works!

Thank you... thats exactly what the news said... it did not say he was even arrested and put in jail... he was ISSUED AND APPEARANCE TICKET... as if he was found with a little marijuana or something... but really he was ruining the LIFE of a teenage girl...

This is what happens all the time! Take a look at the SOR. These people always get away with it. The justice system is sick, sick, sick in this county! There are also people who have been arrested for sexual abuse, and are NOT on the list. They are just out roaming free. It is not right and it is not fair.
