There WHO goes again trying to make something out of nothing. Obviously a Catholic School has a right to hire teachers whom students can emulate. An atheist, especially one who admits it on Facebook, is not a good example to anyone. Her intelligence is also questionable.

Ok...so science teachers that believe in God and then teach evolution (man evolved from apes and not Adam and Eve) should also be fired?...isn't that a biased opinion also?? I went to St edmonds school in FD, Ia in 1986-89. There was a Sister Eugene nun that physically abused students if you did not where a belt on your pants and watched her hit a student in the hallway for not having one....man she was a mean old nun.

It's a Catholic school with it's own christian standards. If they teach about Christ they have a right to dictate what the beliefs of their employees should be. Good for the school.

Keep in mind that is the same entity that made preists feel it was ok to play with little boys...just not females...and proven guilty for it.

Maybe she did not believe in lying and believed in telling the truth.

The Catholic Church is above the law. If you do not like it too bad. The Church can do anything they want including intimate acts with your children. I dare anyone to stop them. Priests need their booty call and you will continue to provide fresh material. It is the price of being a member of a cult. Thank You for paying you tithing.

I think the whole thing rests on what was in her contract. Was it a condition of her employment that she follow Catholic doctrine? If not, then then the school was way out of line. It it was, then the teacher violated her contract.
A parochial school certainly has the right to make religious views a condition of employment, but they need to be up front about it.

if you look at this teacher what did she do wrong --- that why we have had so many wars we do not think for our self === child that does not have a way to see life in other ways is wrong it takes a town to raise a child == yes we have fathers and mothers -- if you ask me i think it makes people love life become a whole person and a good father and mother === do i beleave in GOD yes -- why because i do not want to hold back anyone -- i only want to stop the bad not judge it. a good teacher opem a child mind to plaint a seed for all of us to look at == maybe this child will be the person to stop wars
or feed the world -- i as a father learn more from my kids then i would with out them == we must not live with miss trust but be open to tall item some day we will have to get off this world to many people --- it will take the world to do it -- that why the poor need help with food , home , and a free mind -- they may save us all

THE CATHOLIC CHURCH HAS PROVEN THROUGHOUT HISTORY THAT IT IS CORRUPT AND HOLDS NO LAW BUT ITS OWN. PREISTS MOLESTING CHILDREN, OTHER PREISTS AND NUNS COVER IT UP,TAKING AWAY THE NATIVE RELIGIONS ALL OVER THE WORLD (THE CRUSADES), BURNING HUMANS AT THE STAKE FOR SO-CALLED WITCHCRAFT, STEALING PAGAN TRADTIONS AND CALLING THEM THEIR OWN... I AM A VERY OPENMINDED PERSON, BUT I THINK CATHOLIC RELIGION IS TRULY HIPOCRITICAL AND SHOULD GET OVER ITSELF. I ALSO AGREE WITH ONE OF THE OTHER COMMENTS THAT HERE IN THE U.S.A., IT IS ILLEGAL TO HIRE OR FIRE FOR BELIEF, RACE, RELIGION, ETC. AND THAT ALTHOUGH THIS TEACHER PROBABLY DOESNT WANT TO WORK FOR THESE HIPOCRITES, SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN FIRED, AND SHOULD SUE FOR WRONGFUL TERMINATION.

Having never attended a religious school, I wonder just how important it is that any of the teachers believe in God or having any religious preference. I will say this in her defense, if it was that important to the school, shouldn't they have brought this up at her interview? I personally have a problem with people who are agnostic or atheist cause I don't see how they can deny God. Firing someone over a website is just petty!

It seems rational that anyone suckered into any religion (CULT) and seeing their hypocrisy unfold before them would eat away at your belief in God. Morality is not dependent on any religion (CULT) and would seem to pervert the character of people and allow evil to bloom unquestioned. Religion is nothing more than a means to control and dominate people and replace the love of God. Cults are a wall between God and his children, not a bridge.

I think the real issue here, was situational awareness on her part. She works in a Catholic school. The fundamental assumption is that God exists. She is employed by an institution that indoctrinates kids to that end.

In tech, you can perform your job perfectly, but be fired for being an American citizen, rather than someone on an H-1b visa from India, and replaced with an H-1b from India. How do you protect yourself from THAT?!?!(assuming that you were already in the field before all this started

My point, is that neither situation is necessarely right, but they are absolutely reality. There is NO such thing as 'job security', period. There should be, but there isn't. You guide your actions by how things really are, not how they should be.

She could have forseen this, but failed to protect herself - it would have been wise to keep her opinions private, at least not publicly documented in text on the internet

You can bla bla bla all you want about 'The Constitution'. But did it stop the bailouts? Illegal immigration? DUI checkpoints? War "authoizations"? You survive by understanding unwritten rules, not by fiction

What they did would be illegal for any other organization. The only way that this involves the Constitution is that the laws fall under the interpretation of the Constitution by the Court. You may understand unwritten rules or conventions but clearly have no knowledge of the Constitution and law. You need to back off the Rush, Beck and Tea bagger thinking and pick up a book.

There is the problem. Too many are willing to except evil with the promise of some good. No one is closer to God than you. Not the Pope, no Iman, no Preacher, NO ONE! Stand up and reject the con game they play at your expense.

Daily Horoscope for June 19

Sagittarius

Don't be surprised if a member of the family is unpredictable or does things on the spur of the moment today. There's nothing to worry about because they won't do anything too alarming or disruptive. In fact, their actions will be like a breath of fresh air and they may even help you to escape from a current rut. So don't hesitate to be that little bit different yourself, either.
