Police: Soldier shot himself to avoid deployment - KDVR

Police in Colorado Springs say a Fort Carson soldier set to return to Afghanistan intentionally shot himself in the shoulder to avoid deployment.

When you join the military you know it can happen (going over seas, or war). Why shoot your self-- MAN up and do the job you signed up to do. Between this and the other BOYs leaving the US anf going to Canada so they dont have to go is stupid. It makes this country look weak. I served with pride, and honor. If able to go back in I would in a heart beat.. so MAN up you joined knowing the risk, do the job.
