40% of guns sold do not perform background checks on the buyer. These are acquired illegally through online gun sales, gun shows, etc.

Well done El Paso County! As to our Attorney General, who stated that the, "Supreme Court gets to decide which laws are constitutional," yes, but with the caveat that the ultimate defenders of their own liberties are the American people, who possess natural rights, not privileges granted by a Washington, D.C. elite. The right to ownership of weapons by "citizens, not subjects" has been recognized since the time of the Roman Empire. We do not "get our rights" from courts or officials, but rather, some come with having the basic dignity of man.
