One problem is the military has lowered its standards and has been allowing gang members and others into the military. A documentary on this was shown a few weeks ago and it was said that the gang members use their military training to commit crimes when they get out. The taxpayers are paying for this training and then pay their police departments to stop these criminals.

The military does not provide adequate mental care for it's soldiers returning from war. My husband waited months to see a social worker (not a counselor), only to be told he was fine and not passed to the next level to see an actual therapist. We were told at one point that it was her job to not encourage further treatment. We have had recurring problems linked to PTSD and possible depression. They keep sending him home with a "you're fine." He still has nightmares, irrational behavior and suicidal thoughts. It's been a nightmare trying to get him in to see the one therapist they have here. I have no idea what his future will be like without proper care. They told us we can seek care outside the what the military offers if we are willing to pay for it ourselves. When will the military own up to taking care of these fine men and women?
