To all of those who are thinkin about coming back in or are prior service, I just wanted to share my experence. I got of the Army in 1991 decided to come back in at age 41 as a E1 did 4 years had a very long break of service came back in May 2007. Before I went to WTC I work out went to the gym got in shape pass WTC with no problem was not on profile and was able to out do some of the 20 year old. Right now I am still in the Army about to go to the Promotion board and make E5 Sgt. in September I will have six years in. WTC is what you make of it going back in the Military is also what you make of it. WTC has its ups and downs I don't regret my choice I made. Before going back in I had a good job working for the federal government so I was not hard up for cash I wanted to go back in because I enjoy what I do. So to all those who think about coming back in I encourage you to do so but make sure you get in shape and be serious about it.

well I'm leaving soon for wtc, and all i have heard is wining. Like everyone who goes is nothing more than those who are still seventeen and just got out of basic. So what if its physical, your out of shape and need to get back in quickly, your in the army now man up. And injuries were common in my basic as well, but it was just a bunch of pussies trying to get out of training, Not that that worked, just delayed it. So there is head games, if your prior service, you know, its nothing but a head game, and one day you will look back and laugh.... God some of you are prior army, here is an air force senior airman, who shot the m16a2 once ever, and did nothing but load cargo and take tickets for passengers on planes. I hope its tough, i hope i lose tons of weight, and get yelled at. I hope its a slap in the face, and finally i can stop bein a pussy ass lazy af boy who sits in ac rooms one to a room. feeling no pride in it knowing that any civilian, with no training or actual sacrifice, could do the same at the age of ten. im ready to be proud, to fight for my country and sacrifice. it might suck while i do it, but sooner than i can imagine, that day will come where i can say i did for my country, and i want nothing in return. training, pt, yelling, bring it on, im ready. its nothing to what i will face in the eyes of you great countries enemies. but what they see will be my passion for this great nation, love for you my fellow soldiers, and my family safe at home. and a great hunger to survive and win to keep it all that way. and they not i will turn in horror to what we together will bring...
Wow, what a truly primitive mindset from the 'god, guns, and glory' types..jeezzzz Honestly, I must say that my cvilian job was way more dangerous than any thing that I've seen in the Army..not that that's everyone's experience..but it is mine. But this..'more pt..hooah hooah..suck it up and work through the pain' menatality is absolutely retarded. And does not show passion, it shows someone who is desperately trying to be a hero.

****News Flash**** everyone has a job to do, so just because yours may require more activity than you want to give doesn't mean you should insult others doing their jobs. Ans "sucking it up" fighting through the pain does N-O-T make you a hero. People with your mentality are the reason there are so many injuries ... you probably answer 'hooah hooah' to everything your asked/told as well?

I went through Indianapolis MEPS last Monday, April 6th, on my 43rd birthday. I was an E-4, had to accept reduction to E-3. The ONLY job being offered to PS is 11X (Infantry option). Actual identifier (11B or 11C) will be assigned at Infantry School. I was also told that sometime next week or yet this week the Army will not accept PS until mayber after the start of the next fiscal year in October.

I leave for WTC on August 5th and then to Ft. Benning for Infantry School. The upside is that if Infantry is not for you, take the option for 3 years and when you have two years left on your contract you can reenlist for a different MOS.

Yes its true the Army is full. My Retention SGT put out that now they got it if you are in the Army and get out they are not letting prior service back in for those of us who are already in. Also you must not have a gt score of 110 to get in. Also no more GED must be a high school graduate.

TSgt;
I was active AF and now Army and lovin it! The Army actually treats NCO's like NCO's. There have been a couple speed bumps trying to get into certain schools, but I enjoy this way more. I ship off to WTC next week and you can email me if your still undecided and I will fill you in on the details.

In reviewing the content for the Warriors Transitation Course (WTC) at Ft. Bliss,(on various web sites), I have found discrepancies. They are: No start dates listed for FY 2007, or following years?, by Month and date, No week by week course schedule, and No listed training sites for all events. I have been told by the local Army Recruiters that WTC is conducted at Ft. Jackson, Ft. Knox and at Ft. Bliss only????????? I ask where is it conducted? Any detailed info is most welcomed. Now, if the US Army needs prior service personnel for necessary US Army MOS positions, then list all information on an official US Army WTC web site so interested prior service personnel can review and make a decision to join the World's Best Army.
I am in the final decision process. However, the information is not as detailed as needed. Can any one who has graduated WTC, answer my questions.

"Well, my husband is at Ft. Sill now and will graduate in 3 weeks. He said pretty much the same thing you did, a lot of injuries, DS yelling at you like you just graduated high school, no respect that these guys have already been in the military (17 yrs for my husband)He will be the 2nd (delta battery) to graduate from there and the last. He said the next group will go to WSNM. If anyone is going, be prepared.. Get yourself ready both physically and mentally. It is a mind game, but they have a way of doing it that is for sure. I went up to see my husband on what was suppose to be their pass day (Sunday) and at the last minute they took it away from them and gave them a pass on Friday night. I was able to go, but was hard has hell!!! "

MAYBE YOU SHOULD STOP LIVING VICARIOUSLY THROUGH YOUR HUSBAND. HAS IT EVER OCCURED TO YOU THAT HE WANTS YOU TO THINK ITS UNBELIVABLY HORRIBLE THERE SO YOU FEEL SORRY FOR HIM? IF YOU HAVENT GONE THROUGH THE TRAINING PERSONALLY THEN YOU SHOULDNT COMMENT ON IT.

Okay posting will probably get me bashed as a recruiter but here it goes.....
The "Gentlemen's Course" mentality is not really advertised on our end, I mean it's the Army. And as it can be seen here I am doing research for a PS candidate who wants back in. Best source is not the stuff I read in pamphlets but what the instructors and students have to say, and as I can see there is much to do about nothing. Rather than fix the problem we whine and cry. My attempt now is to get the info from WTC Instructor to send him someone who is ready, not a crying child who wanted something his recruiter couldn't get him or her, so he figured to send that child to another person to tell them "remember, you work for the Army and have to earn your way." Anyway PS guys looking into WTC, it is a course to re-instill discipline and to improve your physical condition, not to teach you discipline and get you back into shape. You know the standard you left, FIX IT! Don't blame your recruiter because you signed a contract, the info is out there....LEARN IT!

What happens if you don't pass WTC? If you have an injury that inhibits you from participating in the training.
