You are kidding me. Whens not recyling going to be illegal. I do not have a vehicle and walk on foot for my groceries how can I carry groceries for the week without plastic bags.

WOW! Just how much government intrusion at the behest of a marginal minority must we suffer? These "Wanna-be Santa-Fe" proponents will not stop here.

This is ridiculous. The Town of Silver City should focus on more pressing issues -- Like drug-addict thieves running wild, like a dirty/trashy downtown business district, like a police department addicted to it's Chief's quota system, like needed capital improvement projects to roads-bridges-sidewalks-water/ gas mains-public buildings-parks.

Screw this absolute nonsense! To those of you who feel this is a priority, go back to the People's Republic of Santa Fe -- and stay there.

Leftist Socialism...Ideas so good they have to be mandatory!

Thanks Lefties for all the freedoms that you allow us to have.

No, plastic bags are not a significant cause of litter. People who throw them away irresponsibly are a cause of litter. They are the villains here and should not be allowed to get away with blaming inanimate objects for their own selfishness.
Just saying

To Duh: People used them for poop bags for doggies. I do. Dirty baby diapers are a good use for them. Also I recycle on trash cans. I do use them. Also pamper diapers are used by new mothers. I would not wash
laundry with poop in it for no amount of money for this earth. You can come over and do the diapers, cloth. I don't believe any body does green diapers any more. Cloth diapers are out. Walmart did not have any here.
I was going to give them as a baby gift. Forget it. These are needs by new mothers and sanitation needs. It is a matter of sanitation in my book.
I am for recyling myself. It is a Consumerism. People buy stuff and stuff,
we are all guilty. I do use green products in my home.

Plastic bags do not decompose. Throw them away? There is no away. Open your eyes. They should never be introduced into the garbage stream in the first place.

Right. Aspire to be like Santa Fe? NO WAY! If I liked the culture and political environment in Santa Fe, I'd choose to live there. I don't! Santa Fe is a great place to visit, but it's not for me. Lord knows, Silver City (and Grant County) should "Aspire" to better themselves, but not in the Santa Fe mold. That is reserved for Santa Fe and the folks who live there. Too much of what goes on in this country involves a minority telling the majority what to think and do. Much of this comes from Big Brother trying to save us from ourselves or others who think they know what's best imposing their will upon that majority. What ever happened to the concept of a republic? The United States WAS NOT founded as a democracy, but it's quickly becoming an "Idiocracy".
