Honey the white teachers are not any better to blacks. The intelligent black kids in the class who are bright enough to understand the condescending comments made to the majority black classes. My kid and her friends are becoming fustrated at the students who do not deserve to be in those classes and the teachers who assume all the black kids are not concerned or intelligent enough to comprehend the racial, stereotypical comments made to them. There have been times that instead if the teacher kicking out the disruptive kids, they just closed the books and refuse to teach. When the few kids protest about tgr situation, they are the ones putoutof class. My child is blessed to have college educated parents who understand the work, but what about those who don't?

I am not sitting in your shoes, and I will not presume to know what you know. Thank you for sharing your insight. I appreciate it, I learn from it.

I graduated in 08 and I had a chance to go to the high school the other day and it was horrible. I saw kids smoking in the stairway, three kids got caught having sex in the bathroom while I was there and I could go on put I don't have all day. The only thing the high school is now is a free daycare it's not the teachers responsibility to make sure the kids have home training, but if the teacher does say anything momma comes up there and acts a fool. So it's just as much the parents fault. And that class is way so many people are leaving Forrest City School District.

Did I say I went in the bathroom? I don't think I did don't put me in the same category as you. I shouldn't have to tell you why I was there but I was visiting my old dean. So sorry to tell you but the troll here is you and you fail at it. Better luck next time.

I graduated in the late 70's. i promise the thing going on now would not have been allowed for one minute then. We need leaders like Oscar Collins, Coach Rooks, Thomas Bridges again.

In the 70's Forrest City was not a welfare town. Most people accepted responsiility for their families. Today the majority of Forrest City depends on the government for support. Kid have kids of their own to support. If it isnt free or stolen they dont have it. This is because somebody didnt take care of the problems. That somebody is the ones who always blame someone else.

It's the same mentality as I get when I take my daughter to be on birth control,
The nurse looks at you like your wrong for doing it, but yet that same nurse has several nieces that have kids at 15, 16, unmarried, barely educated.

I'm taking care of my business, taking my child to a good school, and keeping her from doing what all these girls in this town are taught to do, bad behavior models more bad behavior, that's why this nation is like it is, it's bankrupt from the parasites that suck it dry

Another fight in the parking lot and noone saw a thing. What are the administrators and the cops being paid for?
what about the fight in the school. one black hit a white and when the white kid fought back GUESS WHAT THE WHITE KID GOT 5 DAYS SUSPENDED AT HOME FOR DEFENDING HIMSELF. He has never been in trouble, he's a good kid and has been taught respect and not to start a fight but if you are jumped you have our permission to defend yourself. But, let's go back to the 5 days suspension. What is he learning while he is missing those days? How far behind do these kids get when they are suspended ? Most of them I would say enjoy 5 days away from school and I can't say as I blame them. I have been to the high school more times than I can count. Never for a problem issue for which I am very thankful, but to take things to the school for several diiferent teenagers and it never fails there is a fight going on or a yelling match. We have Forrest City Police officers in these schools which is a joke. The black female cop I have overheard her say I'm going to wait and see what they do ( teachers ) or Everytime I walked into the HS the same officer would be going to sonic or coming from sonic and dancing around and say she was going to the break room at all different times of the day. I never, never saw her work. Then they switched to a white female officer and I never saww her do a thing. What is thier purpose of being there if they are not to protect our kids. I could go on and on but what is the use NOTHING EVER CHANGES.

Just remember all this at election time. As long as the same people are reelected nothing will ever change. If you want change do something about it. Put a REPUBLICAN in office and the city will prosper again.

The reason the schools are horrible because of the parents, teachers playing with children trying to be their friend. The teachers shouldnt expect for a child to listen n class when they are allowing them to bring ipods, phones, ipads to class. The principal @ the high school couldnt control her class when she was a history teachet so she shouldnt expect to be able to run a school. Children gives respect when u demand abd make them respect you. Its not one race of children that acts out in school nowadays. Its white & black. Discipline starts at home & has to continue to be enforced at school. PARENTS AND TEACHERS HAVE FAILED!

Why is this allowed to happen? Because most of the parents don't care and just want a place to dump their kids during the day. If enough parents cared they would work together to get things changed.

Don't expect the teachers or principal to do anything. They are not of the caliber of a Mr. Hawley or Coach Collins who would never let these things happens.

Stop pointing a finger at black or white. Work together to make sure your kids get an education and learn correct behavior.

I don't know about Mr. Hawley, but Mr. COllins was an outstanding principal. He did a great job during intergration. He had total control. We need someone like him back.
