Well, The Sheriff lies to make himself look good from time to time. The Stats speak for themselves. Read them sometime. They are public record. Also, While the FCPD is running call after call, the deputies get to sit on their asses and watch one area (in town) while the county is not guarded. Sounds like we need a new Sheriff's Department. One that cares about the citizenry of the county again like Dave Parkman did. We have went from 3 or 4 deputies in the county working all over to 1 or 2 each night. The rest are in Hughes or on the Interstate. Oh yeah, the ones in Forrest City are the ones that are supposed to be covering the entire county.

Mr. May spoke before he knew the facts. He is trying to make himself look good. Statistically, crime is down in Forrest City. Duch won't call him on it, but the facts will come out eventually. The truth shall set you free

FC running call after call...maybe you should buy a scanner and listen to the real deal! The deputies do an excellent job and since the county is a big area it is kinda hard to be all over at one time dont you think? I mean the city is smaller than the county. I am pretty sure that there is only one deputy on call in Hughes on each shift. I agree Dave Parkman was a great sheriff and now Bobby May is doing an excellent job. It doesn't matter if one works for the city, county, or state....it's a dangerous job for all of them no matter what they are doing!

What's the point of Duch calling him on it? There's not a contest who is doing a better job. Although FCPD and the Sheriffs Dept. aren two different entities, they are there to support eachother, work together when needed. Not to try to out do or criticize the other. It would counter productive if one called the other on every incorrect statement the other made. As it is now the FCPD, Sheriffs Dept. and State Police work well together. Unlike it use to be.

I have more than a scanner. I know what they do. Scannerland don't here it all. Yes, the city is smaller than the county. 14,000 people in one little square. The county has about 15,000 in a big rectangle. Yes, one guy works Hughes for 8 hours. He is alone too. But who is working at Goodwin, Caldwell, Heth, Pine Tree and the other little communities when the deputies are sitting in town at the Grant Street parking lot? They have more paid deputies now than they have ever had, but less coverage. And yes, They all have a very dangerous job. God bless them and keep all of them safe where ever they work.

but if only two or three deputies are working at night then how do you suppose they be at Goodwin, Caldwell, Heth, Pine Tree, etc...?? Like I said before SFC covers a lot of territory so they cant be in all the places at all times.

True enough. NONE of the cops can be everywhere at one time. That is why they have to PATROL. Move around and check things out. Not sit in one place all the time. Not trying to be mean, but you have alot to learn about what their duties are as far as patrolling the county/city.
