I find the hood rats and white trash equally appalling.

This town was a gold mine 20 years ago. The problem with this town is the people. The majority of the people are rude, crude and downright lazy. It's hard to get decent service anywhere, with exception to some locally owned businesses. If these people that were breeding 20-30 years ago would have raised their children properly, we might have a fighting chance. The truth is, the hood is slowly swallowing the town, and hard working/educated blacks and whites are migrating out of here.

There are still a lot of genuinely good people here, black, white, Asian and yes middle easterners. This town belongs to all of us, this is our town. It isn't dead yet and as long as there is life there is hope and as long as there is hope there is possibility. The town didn't get like it is on its own, we allowed it to happen and yes I believe we can fix it. The diversity of our citizens does not make us weaker it in fact can and should make us stronger.
There are differences in all races and cultures of that there can be no doubt but every culture and race has contributed to and for the advancement of the human race.I believe it was Booker T. Washington that said "You can't hold a man down unless you stay down with him"That's what's wrong with our city we are holding each other down but ultimately in doing so we are also holding our selves down.

Doing a good job so far, except for the guy who likes armadillos at night. Friendly people, EACC, even proximity to major highway. Positive things to promote and build on.

It needs to be burned down and started over. But on a positive note, it's so small chances are you don't have to go far to buy your dope.

It's where I choose to live. I desire to help in making things better. I love the diversity here and I love the way we come together in the bad times. I feel that given the right moment we will rise together. I love Forrest City and I won't apologize for that. We are by far not the best we can be but we are far from the way it was back in the good ole days when the "good ole boys" ran things. We will in time be great and something will happen to make us reach our potential. I won't give up on MY town.

@Winter: Those good ole days and the good ole boys did keep things kind of quiet in FC. Coolidge and Sonny ran a tight ship, people stayed in line "or else"...it was rather safe to be out at night and the crime rate was nothing. Were they good guys? In some ways, yes, they did keep the peace because people were afraid to do otherwise! I used to love FC, but my family abandoned it when I was 19 yrs old and thank God they did! I was able to raise my own family in a civilized state and town. The one good thing I can say about it is that it has paved streets.

That was only for some of the people. Others were taken down by the river for justice, some lynched, some shot down like dogs, some burned out etc. We now need to find ways to live together in peace and I am encouraged we will. It's hard for people to realize there are more good people than bad and if we come together and stop the blame game we will become a community and we will rise together and the least among us will still be cared for without the criminal element.
