I was concerned about this article by David Nichol regarding the FCAHS offering to spay and neuter animals for free. What the article nor Ms. Hicks tells you is that if you have Dr. Gehring perform this procedure on your animals, it gives the FCAHS half ownership in your pet. A P.O.- Janie Hicks is placed on your account at Dr. Gehring's office. They say it is just for billing purposes, but that is not entirely true, because they can use this to claim ownership of your animal just as they did Buddy.

But, you don't have to believe me. You are welcome to ask for yourself. Please just make sure that you know the whole truth before allowing Janie Hicks or the FCAHS to pay for any procedure if you truly love your pet.

I just believe that the citizens of Forrest City should know the whole truth before taking Ms. Hicks or the FCAHS up on their offer. I do agree though animals need to be spayed and neutered. I am just not sure that the offer by the FCAHS or Janie Hicks is a wise choice if the offer could mean losing your beloved pet at the hands of some members of the FCAHS or Janie Hicks.

I think instead of paying vet bills they should use spend that money on buying supplies for the shelter. Sick of reading in the local paper that they are begging for money

Why would the FCAHS want to own your pet? Aren't they there to find homes for pets?

The way your post reads, it seems as though you may have a "beef" with Mrs. Hicks. I could be wrong; wouldn't be the first time, but that's what I am comprehending from your post.

Recently, my dogs was found by hunters and taken by them, even though they were wearing collars. My dogs have had all their vaccinations, and are well fed. We live in the county and have property to allow the dogs to roam. Wondering why these hunters thought it was appropriate to take my dogs...Beware, dog owners, hunters will take your animals...

Did you actually see the hunters take your dogs?

Or are you just assuming that the hunters took your dogs?

And if you actually SEEN it happen, why didn't you confront the hunters?

You have 60 seconds...

And...

The clock starts...... now!

No, I did not see the hunters take my dogs. But, after 10 days of searching for them, I found them in the hunters back yard. When confronted, the hunters admitted to "finding them in the woods"...and taking them home. It was obvious that they took them b/c my dogs don't wander off far, and the woods that they found my dogs in, were my woods too. and the hunters wouldn't have gotten away with my dogs, if I were standing there...igmo

I am simply stating a fact. Dr. Gehring does set his accounts up with the FCAHS as a co-owner, if the FCAHC pays for the animal to be stayed or neutered. So does that not make them half owner of the animal? It seems to me that before you call me silly or paranoid, you might want to investigate. Being informed does not make me an idiot. I just think people have the right to know all the fact before making a decision on whether to pay for the service themselves or to apply for assistance from the FCAHS.

Why would you assume that I work for Dr. Roundtree? Do you have something against Dr. Roundtree? I have never used him, but from what I have heard he appears to be good vet. Nor, am I questioning Dr. Gehring's reputation as a good vet, I am just not sure that I agree with his accounting practices.

The humane society has to get a bill on the dog getting fixed so they can pay it and have a record for their expense, that's business. Can you explain how they would pay a bill without a charge?I don't have a dog in this fight, but I think you are sour over something else.Your comments are nonsense. This has nothing to do with ownership of the dog.
