Yep. Here is that union mentality. They cant shut down, too profitable. Hostess did to make a point. Boars head can too. Or very easily move to a friendlier location.

It was designed to. But does not always work that way. I hope if one is implemented there that the dues paid are earned and that the worker sees the benefit, not some hotshots in another state.

unions were once great for the blue collar and yes the white collar worker i worked at sanyo back in the day when the union was great and the union did nit cause sanyo to shut down our jobs were outsourced you on here talkin bout boars head the white and black workers had better stay together there has to be management a lot of whites dont like it because the majority of workers and managers are black if the hourly workers both white and black dont unify no matter what color management is you will be defeated and white folk you all need to recognize times are a changin and you need to learn to adjust your attitude

Does that include the "white folk" that voted for Obama? Do they need to change their attitude as well? Obama could not have won without them.

yes haha president obama could have won again with or without the white vote see thats the problem with society now the caucasian race always wants to think there is no progress in the black race without them shame on you this topic is about boars head not president obama.all i am saying is all races working at boars head need to unify for the good of boars head and the city of forrest city. that undercover boss suggestion sounds great.be careful you never know who is in there or out here.

I wish someone was in there because the two that are running the place with their favoritism and ignorance see to run off any supervisor that actually cares or is fair with the employees. Almost like they are threatened by anyone that might be smarter or the employees will work hard for.

boars head is an ahite place to work. Presents lots of opportunities 4 u to grow thru the company. The only flaw in boars head is the hr department and the supposed confidentiality policy they got is garbage. Soon as you report something to hr, soon as you leave out of there gilette is telling her bestie friend out there your whole conversation. Then bam the whole plant knows. Then religion shouldnt matter but it does which is so sad. If u a jehovah witness u got it super made out there cause she is one. All an all i hate to say it but that plant ran better when u had a white hr manager that didnt have no friends there. Who is strictly bout business and no favortism. Cause u barely can get service in hr cause they always in the supervisors and the managers office telling whats going on in hr.

Give it time. Blacks will ruin it like everything else they touch. Matter of time.

The package offered by the city, county, and state are the only reasons boars head is here. When the tax write offs or incentives start to expire that will pack up all their shit and truck it out of here the same way they brought it in here.
Most of the meat packaging facilities are located in the mid west where the meat is produced. Don't bet your longterm financial security on it being here. If it used a rice or soybean base, things we produce, the long term viability and assurance of it staying here would be more certain.

Actually, the unions were EXACTLY what caused Sanyo to shut down. I heard it from the President of Sanyo himself.

Forrest City was the last facility that was producing tube tv's. They were going to shut the line down, retool to make flat screens, and keep right on spitting out TV's.

The union said "if we have to learn how to make the new TV's we have to have more money"

The problem with that was, the FC workers were already making the same as the plant workers elsewhere who were already making flatscreens. Rather than jack wages up they moved production to Tiajuana.

If it were YOUR company, and your employees refused to learn to make a modern product, and felt entitled to a pay raise for doing the same work, but having to train (with pay) to learn to do that same work a little differently, would you pay them MORE than you were paying people elsewhere to do THE EXACT SAME WORK? Didn't think so.

So there's what you get with Unions; they push and push, asking for more money for the same amount of labor, and eventually it either bankrupts the company or the company moves to a place that doesn't have unions.

Unions killed the FC Sanyo plant. To the union members from Sanyo, ya'll can ll pat yourselves on the back for being greedy and putting yourselves out of work.

All you had to do was learn to make flatscreens, but ya'll were too greedy and lazy to do it, so you cost everyone there their jobs.

I used to work there in maintenence, the black and jehovas crap you are hearing is true...they have an open door policy to complain if you or someone else is being mistreated, but as soon as you're done, they call your supervisor and you end up getting punished...and management will sell you out to save their own a$$...they find someone to be the goat...you will also be punished if you display more initiative and smarts than those above you...it is a miserable place to work and I quit as soon as I could...it is an unsanitary place, oh they wash it down, wash the meat into drains then it spoils and rots attracting flies and lead to a terrible smell and maggots...and if you dare get hurt on the job, they will bug the $ hit out of you and the COMPANY doctor will send you out back to work too soon, cause they pay him too...even if you can barely walk...seen people who severely damaged their knees get forced back to work in about a month, doctor will say nothing is wrong and you have healed...I think the company MAY be descent, but this location is terrible to work at...I have warned you, stay away!!!
