The pay increase would effect her retirement. The status of being recognized by her peers as the superintendent, a multi year contract and possibly life insurance.

She would be the first female superintendent for the district so it would be an honor and recognize her for her 30 plus years in the district.

I wonder if she had been a man, they would of offered him the position, with the title and benefits.

Mrs. Hughes is a great person who cares about our children and schools. I'm glad she'll be there through the entire year. Give her the job and she'll turn this school into one of the best in the delta!

Agreed! She has been committed her whole career to the students of this district. Plus she trusted the educators of this district to teach her children and they are both in college doing well.
She deserves the true complete title.

She's qualified and she knows the employees and the system. Why look elsewhere when we have talent already here. Give this woman the job and stop spending money trying to find a MAN for the job when a WOMAN is qualified and ready to assume the position!
