If a man can zero in on the earthquake cause, nail the bird droppings, swat all the pesky flies, stand on the edge if a cliff and still say its gonna be okay, surely he can give a once blessed and now cursed girl a timeframe.

Alright. Can I bother you for just one more thing? Needing handy tips on a poor working single parents guide to surviving the upcoming cliff dive, if that be the case. What can I say, it's a bad economy. Needing tips that have depth and weight.

You are sort of in the same boat as I am. Though I'm not struggling financially nor do I need a job. But I'm suffering from a need to reinvent myself. I miss the type of work I used to do and all the worldwide travel I used to do. I have some ideas but I'm just still trying to decide how much commitment I'm willing to invest. I'm no spring chicken. At my stage in life I'm not willing to invest anything without a payback. And I'm not necessiarly talking about money.

As far as the fiscal cliff....and the future in general....the gap is going to widen between the " haves" and the " haves not". That being the case....live within your means...at what ever level of comfort and satisfaction that may be. Or not. But while you are doing it....reinvent yourself. If you are technically inclined I could offer you some really good advice in that arena. But thats a different discussion.

Oddly enough, because I am edgier and crankier and way less spiritually sound than I was, the only thing I excel at is helping people who struggle with addictions. There's no call for it in my hometown and it is not profitable. I am not technologically gifted. But I catch on at hyper speed.

You are pretty creative, I bet you can carve out whatever new niche you set your mind to.

See if it weren't for the romance or finance, I'd be in good shape. It's always the money or the honey. That's my current woe, I did invest everything without a payback. I went all in and lost, and I'm not necessarily talking about money.

Well...as I understand it....there is a career to be had with helping people with addictions and such. But I have no idea what type of certifications you need. I also have no idea what the demand for that talent is around FC.

But if you are a quick study and have a grasp of computers, and if you are looking for a fast track to a new and rewarding career....I would recommend you pursue a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator). The cert is all about managing routers. You can buy a CCNA study guide at most any Barnes & Nobels or Hastings.....probably in the $40 range. If you are a really quick study you could complete the study guide in about 6 weeks....but if you don't know much about networks then I would expect more like about 6 months. Then you have to take the certification test and that cost abour $150. But if/when you get the cert then you really do have a valuable credential that is in high demand. Just so you know...when it comes to networks....routers are everything.
