I am so proud of Matt for opening this new restaurant! This town needs all the businesses it can hold! I'm just so glad that he opened it back up, instead of shutting it down completely. I went and had a nice crisp salad and a delicious hot sandwich. Kudos to Pops Place!! I LOVED IT!!!!

I would count flies while I waited on my burger.

Sojo: I don't think anyone is bashing anyone for having an opinion. It's the way you are voicing them. Cruel and mean spirited. You can give a negative opinion and still be polite, respectful and constructive. But people sit safely behind their keyboard and spout things they would never say to a persons face.

So if I say food taste bad when I pay for it...that is mean spirited
When I say it's low quality food, again I paid for it, so I have no right to ask others opinions
And we'll the service was bad...again I even tipped her
So if speaking up for myself and asking others for their experiences is evil then so am i

With all the problems in this world (and community)- if this is all you have to complain about, you're very blessed. Again, If you don't like it - fine - don't go back. I think you've made your point. Quit bashing it on Topix!

A lot of us get on topix, because of what we hear, not to gossip. Some of us are good people who have other things to do in this life. Personally, I get on topix a couple of times every few months...only when someone in my circle makes mention of things that hit home. Grow up and get a life.:)

I get On topix rarely have you ever seen my name on here...I have a life, and just because I mentioned a "new" business, that happens to be owned by what people keep telling me is some Christian pillar of this community. You know what I think of that. Even Christians, like me, or him, make mistakes. I truly wanted other people's opinion and got it, wow I am so sorry you people got your feelings hurt because I didn't like what you like, and as I have stated,if you don't like my opinion or others then get off your high horse and figure out how to delete this thread. Otherwise I'm going to post what I want, when I want, how I want, because I want. I have read others opinions and not dogged anyone personally by name. I referred to the restaurant that is a public place, and replied to it only to see others opinions. If you silly old people can't understand that, then you are the ones with a personal problems.
And if you happen to be the owner or good friend or just community member, do you really think topix is going to make or break this place? Cracking me up.

Sojo, I feel your pain. I stated what happened to me at "Mike's Place," last week, and got bashed for giving my opinion. That's a big reason I moved away from FC. There are so many cliques, and people who think they can do whatever they want, without circumstance. We see where THAT got the town, don't we? Oh, it's overrun with gangs and drugs and welfare recipients, but there are still "boutiques" and stores selling shirts for $200. Good idea for a town that's in the economic doldrums.*face palm.*

I have an opinion, and I express it. It's my right and privilege. If others don't like it, they can scroll on by.

As for "Pop's Place," I've never eaten there. I know that Bonanza was EXTREMELY overpriced, especially for a beef patty that I can pick up at the grocery store for about a 1/4 of the price. They called it "chopped steak." It was a hamburger, without the bun. lol

I agree that if someone owns a business, and they truly care for their community, they WILL listen to positive AND negative comments from their patrons. That is how a business grows. They should know where their failings are, and try to improve upon them.

I don't know about the prices, but FC really needs a good place to sit down and eat with your family, without having to mortgage your house to pay the tab.

I wish this place luck, but they should listen to ALL opinions given, if they want to succeed. Bash away....

The food was bad , the service was really bad and we DID tell Matt and the server and all they said was they werent expecting things to be that busy. But...its the same people from Bonanza...I think thats why we stopped going there, too! So they really dont care about our bad experiences...they never cared when it was Bonanza. It would be awesome if the people that ran the home town businesses actually cared about the service they are providing....then we would feel better about eating there.

Welcome to the American dream... Self employment ( sarcasm). I'm assuming at least some of the comments are from bonanza employees Matt did not rehire. I'm sure they are upset because you replaced them with family until you get on your feet. Anyways, take the negative comments and better the place. My family will support you and will eat there soon. Good luck Matt, self employment is hard and I respect the difficult decision you made. See you all soon.
P.s. it's not hard to please my kids just make sure the ice cream machine is up and running.

I am self employed. Have been for 20 years. I know what it is to struggle, but when I find out what I can do to better my business I do it, I try not to take offense to it. I just do it.

I went, and it wasn't worth it. The service was awful, it took 10 mins to get 2 drinks, got the order wrong twice, had to ask for croutons for the salad, and then has to ask for rolls or toast. And then our waitress just sat there staring at the ceiling almost all night. I mean come on now it shouldn't be that hard to get drinks and write down on a slip what someone wants.
