The second admendment has nothing to do with hunting or self defence. its to enable the citizens to have the means to overthrow a tyrannical goverment. If the goverment tries to confiscate the guns from law abiding citizens that would be a time for citizens to exercise their second admendment rights as the founders envisioned.

The target gets a lot easier to find with a gun in your hand,
it makes it easier to kill someone, as opposed to say, a club or a knife.

that's just a small list of your military grade weapons for you ... the pistols are an exception in my eyes but all the others and other guns of the same caliber that are semi auto or hold a large magazine clip should be illegal .. there is no use for them in civilian world.. and Noone is formed in parallel to the formation of nobody, anyone, and everyone, but it is often considered incorrect because of the doubled vowels creating a temptation to read and pronounce it as "noon" (/nuːn/).
American users (COCA) prefer the spelling no one to either noone or no-one by more than 500 to 1.
UK users (BNC) prefer no-one to noone 50 to 1 and no one to noone 12 to 1
that is your "noone"..
You forgot aircraft carriers, destroyers, submarines, fighter jets, bombers, drones, shoulder fired missiles, tanks, rocket propelled grenades, APCs, LPCs and yes.....bayonettes, just to name a few.(Bet "noone" asks me what a LPC is.)

And eagles, if you live near Searcy, go see the eagles at the sewer ponds out Davis Drive. Don't worry about me falling in, I stay on the human side of the fence and do my fishing elsewhere.

What is your point?

We live in a republic, not under a dictator. The U.S. has armed services to protect us from armed conquerors.

It is the Oligarchy of today, that is well on its way to conquering you, without even one shot being fired.

Odd, to you and me .

Very predictable when you consider how the conservatives are totally opposed to change.

I have a legitimate question Army.

You, having spent a good deal of your life protecting this Country...would you support the violent and unlawful overthrow of this legally elected government?

2nd- You are choosing a poor example here to back your argument.

Security at China's schools has been increased in recent years following a spate of similar knife attacks in which nearly 20 children have been killed.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-20...

Compare those numbers, 26 dead in one gun attack, "nearly 20 in a spate of similar knife attacks".

"real Curmudgeon"

OH that is funny, when he gets a copy write on that name let me know, and I will change my name before he sues me.

Would you care to make a bet if we could register that moniker on Topix.

You cannot register. the same name twice.

What would you say the odds are that is not a name already taken.

Remember Saddam Hussein, he had a army, an could not stop the U.S..
And you and your ilk, are going to do it with hand guns.

You only say it's a poor argument because it completely proved your "theory" completely wrong.
I don't compare the number of deaths. One death is one too many. unfortunately you have proven to have a tolerance and made an excuse for the number of deaths and how they are killed. How sad...
