Does anyone know what became of that park? What is there now. We went to that campground every summer for years. We have alot of fond memories there and at Fairwood Evergreen campgrounds. I would love to bring my children there.

I've tried to find out as well with no luck. It's strange when the locals claim to never have heard of the place. I've been digging for photos in my parents collection, but still haven't found any.

The Old Timers in town would know.
I suspect, but am not sure that the campgrounds off of O'Brien road was the location of one of them. I also recall a local church group having Easter Sunrise servics at a campground years ago, but not sure what it was called at that time.
I will try to gather more info for you.

Christmas Tree Park was located on the Bellingertown Road, or some call it the Enos Road.
It was about 1.5 - 2 miles from the "Y" in the road where you turn left onto Bellingertown Road. It was on the right side. It is no longer there and has become an area with several homes. The road that took you to the camp ground is now called the Loucks Road.
Hope this helps.

Thank you all for this information. You have all been helpful. I'm bringing my family up in the area to show them where we camped as a child. I know it will be a bitter sweet time as my parents are now deceased. However, we do have alot of fond memories of thoses two camp grounds.

My wife and I took a drive last Thursday to look around for the place. We stopped at a place called Kayuta Lake Campground. Definitely not the place. We drove the length of O'Brien Road looking for others with no luck. On the way back I spotted Bellingertown Road, then turned onto Loucks Road. There is a bend in Loucks Road, and straight ahead is an old dirt road that looks like it may lead into the old park. There was a posted sign, so we didn't drive in. I'd love to have a chance to see the place. Couldn't find a place called Fairwood Evergreens .

We camped there every year in the seventies. Some of the kids that lived on O'brian road use to come into the camp grounds and play with us. I think that the Kayuta lake camp grounds use to be Christmas tree park. I remember as a kid that if keep going straight as you came into the camp ground, you would come to the lake. I could be wrong. I did walk in there last year and it reminded me somewhat of Christmas tree park. We had alot of fond memories of that campground.

The park was owned by a group from New Jersey that neglected to pay taxes, etc. They basically just took the money and ran with it. The county now owns it and it is open for public use although there is no longer anything there. Fairwoods Evergreen is now Kayuta Lake campgrounds and just recently went under new ownership. It's very busy all summer long.

My grandfather used to own Fairwood Evergreen. I used to work summers for him during the 70s. It has changed hands several times and is not what it used to be... at least last time I visited. Last time I was there it was called Keuka Lake Campground. Hope this helps
