Just like TUD to let things fall apart and then complain that they need to raise their rates to fix the problem. What and where has their revenue gone to for plant maint. and related aspects of running a sewer or water plant. It is amazing that this entity, TUD wants everyone to cut back on water usage but when we do they dont receive the monies they would normally get because we have been doing such a great job of conserving water usage that TUD didn't get the monies they received before the water conservation so they raised the rates and now another dry year and Tud wants us to conserve even further nad they want to raise the rates again because their storage tanks are getting old and need to be replaced or repaired. Don't they, TUD, have a fund for the sole purpose of fixing what needs fixing or replacing? With the economy the way it is every public entity wants to raise their rates or raise taxes but want US blue collar workers to take cuts and forgo cost of living increases but the guys at the toop aren't even considering taking a cut in pay or benefits and that is not fair. everyone should be doing their part but the so called elilte and rich aren't taking any cuts unless it is in their dividends from the stocks they own.

Dear POed vet...
With respect ~ we should all tighten our belts and be more efficient towards our water and energy uses. California, in general uses more water per person per day than most anywhere else in the Country. The drought years we are all currently experiencing is something we should be familiar with. It happens about evey 8 to 12 years. TUD is doing a great job. We should all try to use less but expect to pay a little more for it's infrustructural integrity. We are either part of the problem ~ or part of the solution. Let's try to introduce behaviour changes and realize that water is a VERY precious commodity and it's time we thank TUD for their efforts, and support them.
Thank you
