Sounds like everyone acted badly!

First of all, I wish I could vote for both options above. He was drunk and beligerent. I would know this as I was present to witness the whole ordeal unravel. Irvin was completely drunk out of his mind and was acting extremely beligerent.
Quick synopsis of what I witnessed: 4th of July party with a bunch of people drinking heavily...Irvin being one of them. The fire department came and extinguished our fire (which was illegal). And an unknown person (who was drunk) in the crowd threw an empty beer bottle in the direction of the firemen. Then the police responded (very quickly may I add). The officers were very polite with Irvin even though he was trying to fight with the firemen. I then witnessed Irvin shove one of the policemen....what do you think happened next? Irvin got taken to the ground. Of course he did..I was raised that you never to place a hand on a policeman and if you do your going to have to pay the consequences. In this case Irvin was taken to the ground in what appeared to be a bearhug. Never did I see him get hit with a flashlght as he accuses.
This is outright slanderous towards these officers and the police department as a whole. I thought the policeman handled themselves very appropriately. But thats coming from someone who has morals and was raised properly.
This just goes to show that the legal system in this country is completely screwed up that you can sue a policeman after you shove him and plead guilty that you were at fault.
Please everyone rally behind these officers who acted appropriatly and the department as they risk their lives for us and deal with drunken, beligerent idiots on a day to day basis.

Richie, get the borough for every penny you can. These officers are disgrace to this borough. Bazzone should get a pair and put GREGORY in his place, instead of letting him run wild on the good citizens of North Braddock!

North Braddock Police are not faultless but they have improved I believe in the past months, yeah they were caught sleeping but now you see them out much more aggressive, yes we now have 911 with a little more responsibility to handle calls, it is easy to make mistakes as a cop its a very stressful and prompt thinking profession, overall though it seems that the patrolmen have no guidance and leaders, don't bash Seman don't bash Laeuricia for they have weak supervisors and no chief to guide them or help them really, the young patrolmen sound more professional and bust their hump more than any supervisors, Kraly did the tasering not anyone involved in this current case, and as for Seman he's a young officer that has from what I know been counted on to run some major scenes in the boro due to the lack of leadership, not to say these guys are innocent maybe they did use excessive force but a lot is asked of the part time cops and sometimes it can get the best of you, theres always room for improvement but face it theres no leaders little organization and low pay in a economically downturn community like North Braddock

First things first, That Seman kid may be young but he does show alot of leadership handling a lot of the higher profile cases. And that Laeuricia was not the officer who tazed Hicks. Laeuricia was just merely present and once again fell victim to this terrible judiciary system we have to today. He is now being sued because he defended firemen and a police officer who were pushed. And he was already sued just for being witness to a tazering.

I agree with you. They have shown improvement. I think they have potential but like you said, they are more or less on their own without supervision. As for them using excessive force, I was brought up to never touch a policeman. Stupid move on Irvin's part and he even pled guilty. I wish Irvin would win his lawsuit so maybe he could have enough money to buy a house outside of N. Braddock that has room enough for a party of 50 and torment some other boro's police. Drunk or not, someone his age should know how to act more appropriate. They are sue happy. They have also had numerous problems with the police over the years. I haven't had any problems with the police because me or my family don't put themselves in that position.

Rich Irvan another pillar of the community, he rents a apartment does not even pay property taxes. He pled guilty to his charges at the magistrates now he wants rewarded for acting like a three year old, how do you explain that to your attorney with a straight face. Let's see, 1)got drunk 2)started to use foul and profain language. 3)pushed cop, 4)fought with cop, 5)now give me money. MAKES PERFECT SENSE TO ME. When you are drunk and act as a child your treated as such. Seman is actually one of the better cops down there so don't throw stones because Pezzulo and Bazzone show no supervisory skills. Fine job Seman and laeuricia, the call was handled as it should have been handled, perfect!-- Irvan screwed up, was promptly arrested and pled guilty at magistrates.

The irvins have been in this community longer then u probably,have helped alot of people in those years and jealousy will get u no where. This is the bottom line....Everyone who lives in North Braddock is worthless, with an exception to i'll say...oh maybe 12-16 people. Everyone else is either selling dope, sucking up section 8, white trash, or just think that because they know a council member, the chief, the mayor, or because they just live in town, they can get out of anything.

People complain that the police dont do anything, but then an incident occurs where a drunken idiot harasses fireman and shoves an officer, and the police have to resort to minor force on the individual do to his actions, and now you say they use "too much force". You people are all hypocrites. Irvin was drunk, used bad judgement, and paid the end result...BUT since he is a resident all the village idiots feel he was mistreated and feel sorry for the him. If this would have happened anywhere else in NB outside of the projects (aka north braddock heights), there would be no complaints.

In my opinion, if Irvin wins a settlement, it will just be another slap in the face to the judicial system. Me personally, I hope he doesnt win, but if he does I would laugh, because hopefully the borough will pay it out of their own pocket. If they do, all you idiots would have actually paid him with the tax money (well those who do pay taxes, so the projects are excluded) you pay them, then maybe next year they will raise taxes...haha...what a kick in the nut sack.

Every community has its problems, but residents in North Braddock think that they are living in a community like Upper St. Clair. No people, North Braddock is the asshole of Allegheny County...Only shit comes out of it. Open your eyes people. If I lived there, I would be embarassed to say I live in NB. It is an eye sore to look at. If I were kennywood, I would build big blinders so that people could not see the other side of the river. That town will be the same in 10 years as it is now. It is not a business community, and will never be one, EVER. the only thing that keeps the borough continuing is the mill and bare assets. Donate the land to help the military practice napalm droppings or something useful.

Hmmmm "Concerned" raises a good point. Brother in law runs for election wins. Police Dept. gets served the next day convienent. But from what I hear it wont be long until the FEDS and DA are on him for official opression and various other reasons as Ive seen him telling residents things that he as a Mayor shouldnt even be telling people and he is not even in yet. Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

By the Police 2. By the judge 3.
