I;ve lived in 1st ward North Braddock for 26 years, the past 10 have been on Brinton Avenue. The sidewalk here is level with the street & bricks. I have been parking in front of my house for the past 10 years. I don't have a garage, driveway, or an alley. Starting November 1, 2009 I will not be allowed to park in front of my house. Nobody asked my opinion on this issue. They had a meeting & decided for themselves. I got a notice on my windshield. I called the police dept. & asked what it was about. They said "no parking on sidewalks in pa starting Nov 1". I said "Where am I supposed to park!?" He said "There's an alley" I replied "It's not MY alley, I'm on the corner, behind my house is a backyard, then my neighbor's backyard, then my neighbor's house!" He just repeated that there would be no parking on sidewalks & hung up on me. Is anyone else mad about this other than me? Or are you lucky enough to have a driveway or garage? It's only the corner houses that get hurt.

they apparently are trying by any means to make money for the borough. So far I havent had any problems with North braddock

There should not be any parking permitted on the sidewalks where it applies. Why don’t you attend a council meeting and ask for some relief, on where you park. The borough is not making money, there simply applying the Ordinances. People have simply taken advantage of this, go to a meeting and ask.

1 1st ward i have been following your posts you seem to be venting some sort of anger, thus you must be part of council or the self proclaimed KING of North Braddock, as it seems you are disturbed to high degree when someone on this post bad mouths North Braddock , it is a open forum let everyone express their opinion it is no reflection on you.....OR IS IT??????? |

You hit the nail on the head.
The law is the law sidewalks are not for parking on they are for people to walk on.what is it about that ,that you don't understand.wake |
in north braddock people walk where ever they want to more people walk in the street if they want to enforce this they had better get some signs and post them and the police better enforce it when cruds is having a party or at night!!!!why should the drunk asses be allowed and not us residents |

1 "THE LAW IS THE LAW" Resident's have been parking on the sidewalks here for the last 100 years, and now because the boro is destitute they are going to start enforcing "parking on the sidewalk violation's" and ticketing resident's. Just another complete joke that the Boro police dept and council has dreamed up for for a few cents worth of revenue at the tax payers expense. Good job fella's keep driving out what decent people we have living here!!!!!!!!!! |

People do take advantage, of parking on sidewalks. i totally agree with 1st Ward. Get over this little problem and get on with your life.

People can "bad mouth" NB all they want, and can also defend NB. its funny that you actually "follow" posts...get a life.
Oh just start parking in alleys and around the corner from where you live. That way, you can make it even easier for the gangs around NB than it is now to jump you, beat you up and try to rob you.

You my friend are a moron the towns people are being abused because this town is listen close now, the town is BROKE so because the town is broke the resident's must suffer, and i do follow the North Braddock posts just as you do SO WHAT KIND OF LIFE DO YOU HAVE!!(JOKE) because it is people like you that amuse the rest of us with your silly comments and also agree with the borough that all of a sudden need revenue at the taxpayers expense. And if you think the borough is correct in inacting such a silly ordinance then maybe the people that are getting thrown out from the front of there house should PARK IN YOUR DRIVEWAY, you my friend are a JOKE AT BEST!!!!!!! |
100 years, how old are you? I have seen a few people get hit by a car and a bus because they had to walk in the street. Safety! |

1 What do you care how old i am How old are you???? What are you a know it all? SAFETY !You have seen people hit by cars" Since you seem to know what is going on go to the Police Dept. and let me know how many pedestrian accidents there have been on Brinton Ave. Better yet let me know how many "HUNDREDS" and "THOUSANDS" of people have been struck by cars in the entire boro of North Braddock. What are you a councilman or do you live in the heights and have no sympathy for the people that actually own homes, put the shoe on the other foot brainstormer and see how you would like getting your vehicle thrown out from in front of your home!!!! Another North Braddock brain surgeon no doubt!!!!! |

I love the idea. I have lived in NB for 5 years and everytime i stumble home after a long night of drinking schlitz pounders at Cruds i have to walk in the middle of the road. Many times i have been almost hit by passing cars. Once i had to jump out of the way and it caused me to drop my crack pipe down a storm drain. but dont worry i still got to smoke that tasty little rock that i bought from the black guy in crud's bathroom. Go get them parking violators popo. pull out your trusty pen and fight the battle that is taking over our sidewalks before 1st ward looks like 2nd ward. im going to call the police to come ticket everyone's car anytime I see it on the sidewalk.
Keep parking on the sidewalk, get a ticket and then tell the magistrate your stupid story why you broke the law.jerk |
Waaaaaaa!!! Waaaaaaa!!! LET ME CALL YOU THE WAAAAAAAAMBULANCE!!!!!!!! |

I heard from a city council member who attended a meeting with the state that the no parking was for one side of the street only & that if you have 2 tires on the street & 2 tires on the sidewalk that it would be okay. The very next day I got another notice on my windshield. I called the police back & told them what I was told. They said the same thing that they said the first time. So it's a communication problem between the state & the city police. One says one thing, the other says another thing. The police are the ones who will tow my car so I'm going with what they're saying. As for parking in the alley, I have drove up and down it multiple times and there isn't anywhere for me to park. The alley is taken. The road across from mine is taken. Everything is taken. Also, if this is for my street only then the people on the side street parking on the sidewalk should be fined or towed also. And the cars that line up down the street from me with all 4 tires on the entire sidewalk completely blocking it. Why aren't they getting notices? I didn't get a letter in the mail, a phone call, anything. If I didn't get a notice on my car, which I didn't officially until yesterday, I wouldn't know about this. I'm calling the news soon if this isn't cleared up. Someone needs to get things straight. If they don't want me parking where I've parked for 10 years then THEY should find me another spot. I'm not fighting with the neigbors. It's dangerous enough around here.

I DO understand that. What I DON'T understand is the fact that the house I bought 10 years ago has one place to park & now that place is being taken away from me. I don't understand how I parked in front of a no parking sign for 5+ years without a word from anyone. I don't understand what has changed in those 5 years that makes them all of a sudden care where I park. I don't understand why I watch people walk in the middle of the street how they can care about walking on the sidewalk. I do not block the sidewalk. There is room next to my car to walk on if they so chose. I have personally walked around my own car without a problem. The ones who do completely block the sidewalk are the reason this is happening. I shouldn't be the one to pay for it. As for the law is the law. What about the law about no parking right up against a stop sign? There are cars that park right on them here and they should've been ticketed for that a long time ago and THAT is the reason this is happening. Someone finally got mad and complained about it. Now I have to pay. |
. So you admit to have been illegally parking for 5+ years, and you are now upset because it is being enforced!?!?!? You should have never parked there to begin with! Not to mention you have been getting a break for many years, so there is nothing for you to be upset or complain about. It is an issue you should have thought about when you moved in. You people of North Braddock seem to feel that the laws of the State, or Borough ordinances do not apply to you. I dont get it. |
