My husband will be getting out of the military, and we're looking to buy a home near family - we both grew up in the Stroudsburg area. I know that it's about an hour drive to see our family there, but we don't want our kids to go to school at Pocono Mountain or Stroudsburg (where we both went.) Wondering if anyone has kids at the Forest City Regional School ? Is the area good for families? Thanks in advance!

I was born and raised in FC. Probably going to die here too. I moved around the country a couple times. Nothing beats it up in FC. And yes... good school and good place to raise kids as well.

I'll be headed to PA next week, staying with family until I find a home in FC. Can't wait to start my search. Any areas especially nice? TY for your help, I really appreciate it.

forest city is a great place to live. the school is very good, class sizes small, kids get lots of attention. the only drawback is we are far from major shopping and restaurants. if you want a quiet laid back unassuming place to live this is it.

Life in Forest City, PA Goskowski's childhood years were difficult as his entire family struggled to rise above poverty and degradation. For fear of working in the coalmines, Michael learned to do his best to seize a better future for himself. Growing from boyhood to manhood during the Great Depression and World War II presented unique challenges that helped create an interesting life and an interesting man. His aggressiveness and optimistic attitude toward the future kept him focused always on achievement and progress.
Readers will follow Mike Goskowski's life through his boyhood and his coming-of-age as a soldier in World War II. They will experience the ups and downs of his family life as Goskowski struggled to hold onto his faith and realize his dreams. By the end of this book, your pockets will be full from learning how to Pick Up the Pennies."

My mother lived in an area off of 402 and my son is in forest city. The school is good. I don't know very many people in town but ever since the bar got shut down Main Street seems very empty at night. The police are on top of things from what I've seen.
