This guy installed an engine that was supposed to only have 50,000 miles on it. Within 90 days I have had it back into them four times for check engine lights. Everytime he finds something un-related to his warranty on the engine. The original quote of $1650 turned into $2150+ on the engine install. When he pitched his company he said parts like plugs and seals would be included in the $1650 price but when I got the bill they were added in separately. I have now spent another $495.00 beyond that and today he tells me I need a catalytic converter for another $800+ dollars!!! He will "bait and switch" you just like he did me. This place is a rip off and you have to take the car back on check engine light stuff to them because of their warranty. Within 8/weeks the car was leaking at the rear main seal. He lies; telling me I can only use "factory part only" at a cost of $643.18. I have checked there is an after market part that is legal to use according to new legislation as of December '08. But Robb is still ripping off people for factory only. He tried to do the same thing with a friend's truck. He quoted $1280.+ to fix a P171 & P174 code (running lean in bank 1 and 2). The price to actually fix it was $420.00 throught a dealer no less!!! Do NOT go here unless you want to contribute to his wealth. He didn't get that bus sized motorhome and 45' speed boat by not ripping people off!!!! BUYER BEWARE HERE!!!!

The same thing happened to us!!! Robb makes you sign a second signature line stating that you "autorize" any up charge in your estimated cost. That's his ticket to stick it to you for an extra $500-$600. This is common practice for this shop. He bragged to us how he goes by the book, it they allow 10/hours to install an engine and it only takes Robb's shop 4/hours...they still bill you for the 10/hours even though they didn't spend that time working on it. I have a witness to that statement directly from the owner! Our experience was similar in that we were up charged by $597.00 more than quoted. Just because some place installs the most engines in a year, does NOT make them the best. "The cheap comes out expensive here." Do business at your own risk, you've been warned!!

I'm a technician, I've been in the field for many years and understand the customers side. A good tech will make approx.$20 per hour on a job "by the book" the book says 4 hours on a job.. it takes a tech 8..they only get paid for 4 ! If they do it in 2 they still get paid for 4. Pretty easy right ? No ! An average tech spends 50% of their day diagnosing problems for lots of the times nothing. Many times the customer will take it to some back yard guy to do the work for a 12 pack. Also an average tech spends up to $10,000.00 a year on tools, education, updates, etc. "ASE" is not a joke, take it to a dealership, I work at one, and your $2,150 bill is nothing compared to a dealership. I hope I speak for many of the techs out there that work hard to make an honest living.

I'm getting ready to sue this guy also. I spent $5,000 on a new engine for my Toyota 4Runner. After 9,500 miles the engine quite. The head gaskets failed and sucked water into the cylenders - it wouldn't even turn over. The engine was supposed to have a 50,000 mile warranty but Robb is trying to say that it's my fault because the car overheated and that ruined the head gaskets so the warranty doesn't apply. This guy is a rip-off artist. Fortunately my sister is a paralegal and she's preparing the papers for a lawsuit. However, if there are other people who have had bad experiences with this jerk, we should get in contact with each other. If there are several of us who want to sue him, we can probably get an attorney to represent us on a contingency basis. If we can get enough people to prove that he is continually engaged in fraud, the damages could be significant. Anyone who wants to go after this guy, write to me pgoeden(at)yahoo .com. Robb deserves to get his ass whupped in court.

This place is a joke! Rob gives you a good price on an engine install and then he does a crappy job. A week later my check engine came on and although it only took a half of a day to put in a rebuilt engine, it took him a week to diagnose and attempt to fix the problem that cause the check engine to come on. Once he has your money, he can care less about the customer. You will not be happy with his warranty. He has 10 mechanics working on new jobs and only one fixing cars that are under warranty. TAKE your hard earned money somewhere else. He will also tell you that it will only take a day to fix the car and he will never fix the car within the stated time period. You will find yourself calling him everyday and he will make up some story. He's a good salesman and a terrible businessman.

I was ripped off by this shop. I spent 3000 to have a new engine dropped in my truck with the 6yr warranty. The engine burned out after 18,000 mile and 6 months and Rob will not repair it or replace. I was sold a lemon engine and left with a worthless warranty. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS SHOP

All of you that have listed a "complaint" I would love to sit down with you and go over your warranty. Many of you DON'T do what's required to keep it valid. We do not "rip" people off.. Everything is documented and is given to you when you pick up your vehicle.
It's always interesting to read these as you only see ONE SIDE OF THE STORY..
Many of these cars have so many issues that replacing the engine or transmission is just the start.
As long as you have a valid issue, no-one has EVER been turned away or denied repair.
An estimate is JUST THAT! Most of the time you can't tell till you take it apart what other issues there might be. The customer is ALWAYS called with those findings and it's the CUSTOMER who makes the decision on what they want to do.
Some of you, no matter what we do are NEVER SATISFIED....

How can you satisfy a customer when you do crappy half par work, do shoddy repair work on something you paid to replace and look for loop holes in the "contract" to just get by as cheap as possible. That is what the company is....Cheap! You do not stand by your work and do sub-par work. More people than not are dissatisfied with the work done, no matter if it is under the cademy automotive or aces high . You ar ea rip off Corporation and will go out of business. you can't change the name of the owner.

I've had nothing but problems with my truck since paying over $2000.00 to install a rebuilt engine! It's been back to their shop which has moved from Fontana,(where we first took the truck)to Corona but now after many, many, many returns I've been told that the owners, Rob Lane and his wife are getting divorced and this past weekend, August 21&22, 2010 Rob disappeared with all the tools from the shop and who knows where he is or where he'll turn up later in another location using another business name ready to scam even more people!!!!!! His rebuilt engine was leaking oil like crazy, now it's making some terrible clicking noise and they keep saying nothing's wrong with it!!!!!! I had no other problems with the truck until after he worked on it!!!!!! These people are crooks!!!!! I'm going to sue him also!!!!!!!!BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS AND THESE PEOPLE.....THEY ARE DISHONEST AND DISGRACEFUL....I HAVE FOUND A WONDERFUL REPAIR SHOP IN MURRIETA IF ANYONE'S INTERESTED. He was referred by someone and my wife took her car to be repaired and the estimate was right on, the car repair was done perfectly, and she hasn't had any trouble with it at all. His prices are very reasonable, he seems very honest and reliable. If you'd like his name email me at daltongangtoo@aol.com and good luck.

Hey Dino, I also took my truck to Rob he said he was putting in a new remanufatured crate engine but I dont belive thats what I got it leaks oil and looks like he used some cheap form a gasket instead of the right ones I was charged for. I have found so many problems and have had to redo a lot still working on it. Please let me know if you do sue as i would like to get my money back as well!! I found it interesting you said you found a repair shop in murrieta thats where I live and I also have a guy in the area helping me fix the mess Rob created with my truck.
