I want a super Walmart in Rialto. I am a city of Rialto resident and would go there if opened.

I live in Fontana and would rather have one here but I assure you that if Rialto has one and Fontana doesn't, I will be spending my money in Rialto. I am tired of having 5 Staters to chose from.

I am tired of having 5 Staters to chose from. Fontana was presented the opportunity, but they turned it down...I live in Fontana too... The Wal Mart Super Center will be on Riverside Ave & Valley Blvd, where Wal Mart is already located... Like you, I'm fed up with being gouged by Stater Bros...There's a $100.00 cover charge each time you shop there, and their quality has gone way down...Their produce is largely imported from "Third World" countries, and don't even get me started on their meat... I've been shopping Food 4 Less...They're more consistant with their products, and alot more affordable...I, too, will be shopping at the Super Center...Let Fontana keep focusing on the north end, they've shown they don't care about anything south of Baseline...

You really are an idiot...They're building it just north of their present location on Riverside Avenue...They want it, are building it, and most of Fontanas residents will do their shopping there...

Hussie, They haven't started any construction yet, that's pending the Public Hearing which is just a procedure they do.

When they were having the petitions signed, folks were lined up to add their names...Why?...Because they know that they'll save money, and that the new Supercenter will bring more jobs, and revenue to Rialto... Fontanas leadership is screwing the residents at every turn by denying them a new Wal Mart...If they're soo "proud" of the city's growth, shouldn't they recognize the need for it?...The people here want it, but it keeps getting stonewalled by the powers that be...You know the ones, the "government that's NOT for the people"...

Hussie, I live directly near the sight.....look at the parcel everyday. The have to Ammend the code section from Office Park to Retail Commercial before the have a "GO" on construction.
Some directly in the area will probably make a scene at the Planning Division next week as why it shouldn't be built.
The 25 acres has been vacant since I moved here in Jan.'81, so glad it finally will have something there that's needed..........I was in fear that they someday would build Low Imcome apartments on the property.

I, too, live not far from the proposed site, and agree with your position that there needs to be something there... The Supercenter will definitely benefit the entire community, as well as those of us who will continue to shop the stores in Rialto...If Fontana would actually LISTEN to its residents, and quit playing games, they'd fare better in revenue...Their loss is Rialtos gain...

Well, here it is the middle of Sept. 2012 and still no groundbreaking for a new Walmart Super Center. In the meantime the existing Walmart goes downhill :(
