Maybe inthe old area if it is as bad as you say maybe the City should condemn that area.I tell you what
Go to Google Maps and go to Street View and take a tour of the town. It was done shortly before the library was finished.
Their camera's captured the graffeti, abandoned businesses and foreclosed homes in the area. There's quite a difference between what the Mayor is saying and what's on google maps street view.

That would literally require "condemning" 3/4 of the City...The point being, as bad as it is, why isn't anything being done?... |
You're beginning to sound like a supporter of the Mayor or maybe someone on the City Council here. Our Mayor only sees the Northside of Fontana and that's where the money is being spent. We want someone to see Fontana as a whole and spend some of those tax dollars, that the city is gaining through the annexation of whole neighborhoods, in the rest of the city as well. We need someone that will make Fontana undesirable to the illegal immigrants that are flooding the city, overcrowding the schools, and taking the jobs that, normally, our teens and college age adults would be working at. |

EXACTLY...There's far more to Fontana than just the North End...Sadly, it's not as attractive... |

I wonder how much City money went into the $60million library. How many street problems and signal problems could that money have fixed???? It's ridiculous that you can't make a left turn on S.B. ave and Sierra, you can't cross Sieera on Marygold if you're the 5th car in line, that it takes forever to cross the freeway. My big problem with emporer Mark is that he won't listen to the citizens. When close to 6,000 people sign cards in favor of a Super Center in N. Fontana, dozens of citizens show up to speak at the council meeting and only two(2) people (Mark and Frank S.) speak against the Super Center, the mayor and Frank and Roberts still vote against it. Mark and Frank have their own agenda and Roberts is not strong enough to stand up to Nuamiand yey, Roberts wants to run for Congress. He can't effectively serve 180,000 people in Fontan and he wants a position to serve millions. I surely hope not.Nuami needs to wake up and serve all of the citizens of Fontana and not just the handfull of his neighbors and friends in N. Fontana who don't want the riff-raff shopping in their neighborhood. Get a clue Mayor Mark--you have problems in Colton and Fontana because of your attitude. Wake up and serve ALL the citizens.

Well said... |
Do not shop at any business that employe them. Mayor Mark seem to operate in the best interest of the City. We could diagree all day on what that is. I was responding to comments about Fontana residents had made on the blog. Government is not going to pay to clean it up the property owners are. North end had to pay to beautify the fields with private money. south end is going to have to do the same with private money. It is going to cost every one who lives there. If the people in the south want to clean it up it will happen at the same time you will have to pay for it. |
ah no....... the money is meant for local security. immigration is under FEDERAL jurisdiction. the city is not responsible for this issue. if you really hate this city and state, please move the fudge out. |
before fontana can be a whole, the city has to annex the sections first. last year the city annexed ten sq miles into the city. the north end is completely empty, so of course it is a good idea to develop it. there is more empty land in the north end. part of the annexation was in south fontana. a hilton hotel is going up in the south.more freeway overpasses are being constructed in the south(constructions has started this year) look if you are afraid that illegals are taking your job, that means you suck at your job and you should lose your job to someone that can do a better job than you could. also many immigrants pay taxes, and spend more money. so shut up |
look the issue with walmart is that walmart bought the land 4 years after the promenade was proposed. there is already one walmart in fontana, another walmart is planned in south fontana. we really do not need a third walmart in fontana.if this walmart goes up, then there will be a walmart every two miles from east rancho cucamonga to san bernardino. |

the library was built with donation money from library patrons, not city money. i donated myself to have that library built. |
We're not talking open fields with trash and weeds on them. We talking abandoned buildings with windows broken out, public domain walls, street signs and utility boxes. They covered in graffiti. We're not talking about beautifully landscaped planned communities with their fountains and golf courses and community centers with the upper middle class 2nd time homeowners. We talking middle class 1st time homeowners, in smaller unconnected neigborhoods, trying to live the American dream. We live in the middle of a largely populated area of illegals immigrants, drug dealers and gang bangers. Oh whoopie, once again the rich think they're better than us. So they're intitled. |
I was talking about jobs for our teens moron. You know working at retail or fast food. I went to college and now I happen to be retired due to illness. My spouse still works in Orange County. |
It is a cross the board government problem. Local government are suppose to ensure that the illegal immigrants are not being employed locally. The feds mostly control the borders, but they will step in with the larger employee based cooperations and assist local governments. |
No the library was built with taxpayer, donations and a grant from the government. Guess which of those three paid the largest portion. Taxpayers |

Since local Law Enforcement is also under the "umbrella" of Homeland Security, they ARE obligated to ensure that ALL laws are not being violated...Just like every other member of the Law Enforcement community...DUH!!!
As for your notion that there's going to be a Wal Mart in South Fontana, you're wrong...There are NO proposed plans to build one ANYWHERE in Fontana because Mayor Mark would rather see our money going to the ones in Rialto, where they ARE building a Supercenter...And the one on Foothill isn't even worth shopping at... As for the Library, that was so over-budget that it was disgusting...I rode the bus with a couple who were Engineers on that project, and they told me that it was one of the biggest jokes they'd been involved with...It wasn't the generousity of donors who made up for it, it was the taxpayers... Did you even know that a worker fell to his death during the construction?...And they also had issues with ILLEGALS on the site?...The idea was good, but it doesn't benefit the entire community...It isn't providing jobs, or stimulating the economy, so what's the point?...To have the biggest one in the "hood"?... Get a clue... |
hussie: the second super wal- mart was proposed in slover ave and sierra. that will make it three wal marts in fontana
the super wal mart in rialto is also another proposal with the two wal marts proposed in fontana

There's not enough room on Sierra & Slover for a Supercenter...They're already building a Hilton Garden Inn on that site... The latest is that Fontana will be stuck with the current Wal Mart on Mango & Foothill...And it's not able to expand... |

The Supercenter in Rialto has absolutely nothing to do with the situation in Fontana...Except it will be generating revenue from Fontanas residents, since our Mayor won't allow us to have our own... |
