What is very sad it that Philly has had over 300 murders so far this year. Keep in mind, this account is just for the city itself, it does not include the amount for the suburbs. I know many police, I know I would not want their job. It's sad, we hear about the rights of the person doing the crime. When do we stand up for the victims rights. They never get another trial. What has happened to them will never be change.

What an uneducated statement. This man charged at the police with a butcher knife, after having just admitted to killing his wife (with a knife).

What do you think these officers should have done, put out their hands and yell halt? I don't think so. This man already made clear his intentions.

I am a police officer and I can tell you, I would have shot at any suspect who charged at me with a lot less of a knife, say a pocket knife or a Swiss Army knife. A police officer's job is to enforce the law, not to be stabbed, shot, or slaughtered.

I am sure that these officers had to make a split second decision whether to shoot this man. During this nanosecond, one would hope the officer's shoot-or-no shoot skills are infallible.

I guess it's easy for some people to do Monday morning quarterbacking; but I for one would NEVER want to do your job. As I mentioned in an previous post, Philly has had over 300 killings this year. One a day should be a vitamin, not the amount of murders for a year. I wish you well in doing your thankless job. Stay safe.
