WHERE DO I START I GUESS BY SAYING THAT JESSE WAS A GOOD AND RESPECTFUL MAN. THE RATON POLICE DEPT. MAKES IT SEEM AS IF HE WAS SO BAD. BUT THEY HAVE HAD IT IN FOR THE SAENZ FAMILY FOR A LONG TIME. LET ME JUST SAY THAT THE SO CALLED P.D HELP WHO THEY WANT. WE NEED TO GET SOMETHING DONE. THIS IS HAPPENING WAY TO MUCH. FIRST THE SHOOTING OF FRED ARMIJO AND NOW JESSE. IT MAKES A PESON THINK IF WE ARE REALLY SAFE AND MY ANSWER IS NO. WHO IS GOING TO BE NEXT. I HOPE THAT SOMETHING WILL GET DONE AND WITH THE STORY WE TOLD SOMETHING CAN BE DONE. THANK YOU,
M.SAENZ

The Raton PD isn't lookin too good right now. But justice really needs to be served, and by that I mean something needs to be done about the police force. What are they trying to prove?? Especiallly officer Swope. That man needs some help!!!! Who does he think he is, f'in robocop or what?? Racial profiling isn't just a thought, but a reality. I know how the police here in Raton are, they hold grudges on prior arrestees and target them!! And again something needs to be done about "Raton's Finest". As a child I remember hearing countless times, always trust an officer blah blah. But you know why trust Raton police??? All they are, are a bunch of lying, cheating, self centered men. They try to intimidate you by staring you down and what not,but you know they don't have shit on me!!!! My prayers to the Saenz family and friends of Jesse!!

Hi my name is C.Saenz. I am nearly 17. I live in Raton NM. I am Jesses' first cousin. I am just learning about the United States justice system. On behalf of my family I would like to say we will miss Jesse very much so. The Raton Police Department has taken 2 young and great lives from our community in the last 2 weeks. I never heard of an officer having to shoot someone when the person only has a knife. And i never heard of a police officer having to use a tazer on a person for a full FIVE minutes. The only conclusion I can come upon is the officers are not trained correctly or they are just abusive. You can not imagine how our family feels at this point. I can only stress the fact that something needs to be done about the R.P.D. The cops here have made this town into a trouble town. People used to love this town and wanted to raise their kids here but now all the people fear of leaving their houses with the fear of being harrased or abused by the Raton P.D. I realy would like to have the citizens of Raton to be able to live their live in peace and not in fear. The Raton justice system has gone down the drane and drags the lives of our loved ones along with them. We need a real justice system in Raton. My parents will not let me leave my house at night or even leave my house alone anymore because they have a fear of the R.P.D. taking my life like they have taken two of our family members and one of our friends. The incident that occured with Jesse Saenz has occured in our family in the past. It was my uncle Melitone Saenz. This occurde roughly around 20 years ago. There was no justice then and no justice now. The R.P.D. gets away with alot of illegal actions but I believe it needs to come to a complete stop. Thank you for taking your time to read this and to tell our story to others. In loving memory of Jesse Saenz!!! Sincerily C.Saenz

I think that the police should use mace instead of tasers because lately people have been dying because of tasers used by police.

I GUESS NO ONE REALIZES HOW MUCH POLICE OFFICERS DO AND NO ONE THINKS THAT THEY TO WANT TO GO HOME EVERY DAY TO THEIR FAMILY AND OF COURSE IF SOMEONE IS RESISTING ARREST OR GETTING ATTACKED THEY ARE GOING TO TASE OR SOMETIMES EVEN SHOOT THE SUSPECT THEY ARE PROPERLY TRAINED AND THERE TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY.... JUST LIKE IF SOMEONE IS GETTING ATTACKED YOU DO WHATEVER TO DEFEND YOURSELF THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT YOU DONT HAVE A TASER AND OFFICERS DO THINK ABOUT THAT. ALSO NOBODY LOOKS AT HOW MUCH OFFICERS HAVE DONE FOR YOUR COMMUNITY PEOPLE JUST WAIT FOR THEM TO DO SOMETHING WRONG SO EVERY ONE CAN START JUDGING THEM WHEN REALLY WE WOULD OF ALL DONE THE SAMETHING IT IS VERY SAD THAT THERE WAS A LOST LIFE VERY SAD MY CONDOLENCES GO OUT TO THE FAMILY BUT PLEASE PEOPLE REALIZE THAT WHEN YOU ARE IN A EMERGENCY WHO DO YOU CALL AND EXPECT TO COME AND SAVE YOU YES 911 AND THEY GO EVERYTIME ITS JUST SAD THAT THE OUTCOMES SOMETIMES ARE SAD LIKE THIS ONE

This is not the first tazer death this month. I think law enforcement should re-visit the use of no leathal force.

I think the loss of a life is very sad no matter what the circumstances. But I also think people need to stand up and take responsibility for their actions! I agree with Jesse C that with some exceptions, the police are out there to protect us and we need to be applauding their efforts instead of blowing up their mistakes. I don't know the specific circumstances regarding this incident but before everyone starts pointing their fingers at the police officers, maybe they should find out the facts and THEN they can make an INTELLIGENT assessment of the situation.

As from some witnesses around the area are stating, The police used the Tasers for at least 5 minutes to subdue Saenz. This is second death in a 2 month span at the hands of the RPD. Perhaps it time we take a step back as a whole and relook at this as a wake to closer watch what our police do.

This is the second death in two weeks with a white officer brutally killing a hispanic man. In both cases deadly excessive force was used with no consequences as of yet. It is time for a federal investigation into RPD starting with Chief Vince Mares and his pathetic, bumbling, totally inadequate "leadership" of the RPD. I have two sons and I pray that swift reform comes to this town starting from the top down!

Police have lots of back up and they always say it was hard to controll the suspect. I personally think its hard to controll the police they seem to think eveything they do is life or death situation.. But in this case who are the ones suffering? Not the cops thats for dang sure!

ALL WE ARE SAYING IS THAT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE HERE IN RATON. AND U DON'T KNOW HOW WE FEEL SO BEFORE ANYONE OF U THINK THAT WE DON'T CARE ABOUT THE JUSTICE SYSTEM YOUR ALL WRONG WE ARE JUST TRYING TO MAKE IT BETTER HERE AND NOT HAVE SO MANY KILLINGS IN RATON. LOOK AT ALL THE THINGS THAT HAVE GONE WRONG HERE IN RATON. THE R.P.D DO NOT HELP THE ONES WHO NEED IT. I ALSO THANKS THE ONES WHO UNDERSTANT WHAT ARE FAMILY IS GOING THROW. JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED

FIRST OFF, HE WAS TAKING FULL RESPONSIBLITY FOR HIS ACTIONS HE DID WHAT THE SO CALLED R.P.D ASKED HIM TO DO. THAT DOES NOT GIVE THEM THE RIGHT TO DO WHAT THEY DID. NOW IF U WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ONE OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS U WOULD THINK THE SAME WAY.AND LET ME ASK U DO U KNOW THE FACTS??? LIKE I SAID BEFORE JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED. THANKS TO ALL.

my friends. like you i am sickened and saddened by another taser death. we are going through grief and anger up here in the pacific northwest at the needless death of a polish inmmigrant who was tasered not once but twice at the vancouver international airport. the man, robert dziekanski had come to canada to start a new life yet within 12 hours of arriving here he was tasered and killed by the RCMP,m canada's ational police. you can see the shocking events which led to his death on you tube, search on robert dziekanski tasered at vancouver airport and cry along with the rest of us. The taser is a powerful weapon but the the trigger finger should be held for a spilt second i wonder how long it was held for the two deaths we are grieving for tonight. bear in mind robert did nothing wrong. see fotr yourselves and get back to me

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Sagittarius

If you have any worries or problems today, a close colleague could have the answers you seek. Work will be satisfying, and anything to do with children should be very rewarding today. There could be friction with a relative, but it's nothing serious and things will sort themselves out in due course. Again, you must pay attention to your health, Saggitarius: skin infections are a strong possibility at the moment.
