I wonder what americans did before section 8 was available? Did they just die?...no, they figured it out.
If they REALLY needed help, there was private help available..church, family etc. But since we have allowed the govt to take over all aspects of our lives, we have generations of people who are addicted to govt programs.
There was absolutely ZERO govt help prior to the 1930's. No SS, no welfare, no section 8, no govt housing, no WIC, no free school lunches, no free needle exchanges etc. And america thrived.
Good statement. I was starting to think I was the only person pissed off about working hard for evertything me and my family have while so many others just "hang out" and get a free ride.

I agree with most of you when you say Section 8 needs to be TERMINATED. I work with Section 8 people and they are "SO PROUD" that some of them are 3rd generation Section 8. What does that say? Grandma, mom and daughter all live on section 8, that is their way of life and they HAVE NO INTENTION ON GETTING A JOB!!! WHY SHOULD THEY, WE PAY THEM TO STAY HOME AND BE LOW LIFES!! It amazes me to see people on Section 8 who have nice cars, cells phone and their babies all have gold braclets or gold chins around their necks!! And for all of you who disagree, too bad, IT IS WHAT IT IS ANYWAY YOU SLICE IT!!

A young man without a record was murdered in his home in a nice neighborhood.

All you can do is change this to a forum on low income housing?

I for one am outraged at the violence in our county. I am outraged that this kind of crime is happening frequently and our law enforcement is being left with their hands empty.

I think it is time we started getting law enforcement involved in smaller crimes to stop behaviors before they become deadly.

EXAMPLE: "TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT"

If our law enforcement strictly enforced traffic laws, they would stop more vehicles.(Burnt out bulbs, improper registration, illegal lane change etc etc) They might come across more people with warrants, getting them off the streets before they can victimze others. Not to mention seizure of weapons and possibly stolen property.

EXZMPLE: "Enforce Curfew"

Juvenile criminals often become criminals due to circumstances. Out late on a regular basis without proper adult supervision makes them more likely to get into trouble. If law enforcement strictly enforced these curfews and interacted with their parents, less opportunity for these teens as well as family intervention my prevent many future criminals from ever starting out.

In closing I am ver saddend by the death of a young man. A neighbor. A human........

I doubt that. I knew both of the victims involved. I've been great friends with the two of them for years. They are amazing people just trying to make their way. The one killed was in the process of finishing his A.A.

The fact that it was section 8 housing was irrelevant. When you moved out for the first time, did you live in the lap of luxury? Far and few even get the chance to do that later in life.

I know they both worked for whatever they had. They weren't like some section 8 occupants who enjoyed the government assistance. They paid rent. They went to school. They had jobs.

No lap of luxury. I worked two jobs while going to college and paid my own bills. Now I'm in the lap of luxury due to hard work and personal accountability.

Can you give me a cross street on F.O.'s Blvd? The news cameras are only taking close ups as though they don't want us to pinpoint the exact apartment building.
The closest cross street is Oak Ave. then El Camino Ave....hope this helps

I am Craig's big brother. If you knew Craig and want to attend his services then you can email me at [email protected]

For the record, Craig was an amazing man with big dreams. He was going to be a Sheriff and loved his family and friends dearly.

Thank you. Somebody else clued me in. I know the complex now. The media did a good job of disguising the actual apartment complex on TV. Then to top things off, the apartment manager ran and hid in her office and put a note on her front door "closed".
If I had been News10, I would have been filming the entire area with a wide-angle lens.
