I hope the birth mother and half sister burn in hell. As an adopted kid myself nurture is stronger then nature.
My heart goes out to the adoptive parents.

I second the motion. I also question whoever said that this former soldiers condition had nothing to do with his service in Iraq, odds are it did play a part....

Reconnecting with his hateful birth family probably had a lot to do with his depression. Burning his house down so the family who loved him and raised him couldn't have it - I bet they gave him plenty of guilt trips for being in touch with them too.
It could be service related, but many of us have deployed and come back with no extra baggage as a result. His family may have known of unrelated issues that caused his depression, and personally, I don't see any reason to doubt them without some evidence to the contrary.
What a sad story.

Brian used to work for me and was always a nice young man. I have had the displeasure of knowing his birth family for years. If there was a Oscar for disfunction they would have won it many years ago. I hope he has found the peace he was looking for and could not find on earth. What a tragedy!
